  • As Sweden celebrated its National Day at the Nordic Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, the spotlight was on innovation, sustainability, and the growing ties between Sweden and Japan. 🇸🇪🇯🇵   Both countries are members of the Sustainable Critical Minerals Alliance (SCMA), creating strong potential to deepen collaboration on critical minerals by combining Sweden’s resource base and sustainability leadership with Japan’s advanced processing technologies and investment strength.   Talga Group CEO Martin Phillips joined policymakers and business leaders at the event to share perspectives on building secure, low-emission battery supply chains. International collaboration will be essential to accelerate the green transition.   We look forward to seeing the partnership between Sweden and Japan continue to grow through trade, research and development, and integrated clean tech supply chains. 🌱🌎

On 14 May, Sweden celebrated its National Day at the Nordic Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka. His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden joined business leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore new horizons in sustainability, trade, and digitalisation between Sweden and Japan. A high-level Innovation Talk spotlighted the strategic partnership signed in December 2024, demonstrating how collaboration fuels innovation and sustainable growth. The day served as a unique platform for Swedish companies to connect, expand, and lead the global conversation on the green and digital transition. As part of the celebrations, GreenIron, a Stockholm-based cleantech company, was awarded the inaugural Pioneer Prize for its fossil-free metal recycling technology – a breakthrough innovation significantly reducing CO₂ emissions in the steel industry. We are proud that our natural graphite mine in northern Sweden has been awarded Strategic Project status by the European Commission 🇪🇺⚡   This important recognition highlights the project’s strategic value in securing Europe’s battery materials supply chain and strengthens our path to finalising project financing and development.   Being designated a Strategic Project under the Critical Raw Materials Act provides several key advantages: ✅ Improved access to financing through the financing sub-group of the Critical Raw Materials Board bringing together the EIB, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and private financial institutions, among others, including possibility of support from the European Development Fund and Cohesion Fund. ✅ Enhanced appeal to partners, institutions and customers to further strengthen ongoing discussions. ✅ Expedited permitting to streamline approvals and reduce timelines.   Martin Phillips, Talga Group CEO, commented: “The Strategic Project status validates Talga’s natural graphite mine and our emerging role as a cornerstone supplier of sustainable battery materials. We look forward to engaging with the opportunities this provides as we deliver Europe’s first fully integrated, local anode supply.” Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/ddtsBcx7

  • A strong and secure battery anode supply is essential for Europe’s clean energy transition — and that was the focus of Talga Group CEO Martin Phillips during this week’s Giga Europe conference in Brussels.⚡🔋   With battery demand rising and global supply chains facing increasing pressure, building a local, sustainable supply chain has never been more important.   At Talga, we’re working to enable this shift by developing our own natural graphite resource in Vittangi and battery anode production in Luleå. We are building a secure and sustainable source of critical battery materials in Europe — reducing reliance on long-distance imports and strengthening supply chain resilience. 🇪🇺 #GigaEurope Benchmark Mineral Intelligence
