Talga secures SEK 82.6 million (A$13.3m) in Swedish government funding to advance near-term graphite anode production. 🇸🇪⚡ The grant, awarded under the Swedish Energy Agency’s Industriklivet program, supports the scale-up of Talga’s proprietary low-emission graphite anode technology to inform engineering design for the commercial plant. The funded project compliments the Luleå Anode Refinery through incorporating recycled graphite feedstock to the engineering design. This funding confirms strong third-party validation of Talga’s project and strengthens Sweden’s position in building resilient, sustainable supply chains for battery materials — aligning with Europe’s broader goals for strategic autonomy and emissions reduction. 👉 Read the full release: https://lnkd.in/gPQFYt6y The “Sustainable, low emission active anode material made from natural graphite and recycled graphite" project is funded through the Industrial Leap, which is part of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and Next Generation EU. The Industrial Leap is a government initiative run by the Swedish Energy Agency.

Great to be back in Japan this week, sharing Talga Group perspective at the Nordic Battery Collaboration seminar and meeting with Japanese industry leaders and government representatives. 🇯🇵🔋 The conversations underscored a clear message: Europe and Japan share the same urgency to build sustainable, resilient and competitive battery value chains. The new collaboration agreements signed between InnoEnergy, JETRO and the GX Acceleration Agency, as well as between the European Battery Alliance, RECHARGE and BASC highlight how partnerships can accelerate innovation, recycling and talent development across our industry. It’s encouraging to see this alignment. From natural graphite to recycled anodes, our focus is on closing loops and building secure supply chains. Seeing this same commitment in Japan reinforces the importance of global collaboration if we’re serious about global resilience and climate goals. A shout out to the Business Sweden team and Bo Normark in supporting this Japanese delegation. Grateful for the opportunity to share our perspective and looking forward to deepening ties between Europe and Japan as we continue to scale the battery industry together.

This week I had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation to our EVA plant in Luleå, as part of NATO STO’s Nordic Pine 2025 exercise. Nordic Pine brings together NATO nations, governments, research institutes, and industry to stress-test how renewable energy systems can withstand hybrid threats — from cyberattacks to supply chain disruptions and resource shortages. Being included in this context highlights that Talga Group and its work on sustainable, resilient anode supply chains is not only vital for the green transition, but also strategically important for energy security and industrial resilience in Europe and beyond. We are proud to contribute to the discussions and collaborations that connect local innovation in Northern Sweden with broader European and transatlantic security considerations.
