On 14 May, Sweden celebrated its National Day at the Nordic Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka. His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden joined business leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore new horizons in sustainability, trade, and digitalisation between Sweden and Japan.
A high-level Innovation Talk spotlighted the strategic partnership signed in December 2024, demonstrating how collaboration fuels innovation and sustainable growth. The day served as a unique platform for Swedish companies to connect, expand, and lead the global conversation on the green and digital transition.
As part of the celebrations, GreenIron, a Stockholm-based cleantech company, was awarded the inaugural Pioneer Prize for its fossil-free metal recycling technology – a breakthrough innovation significantly reducing CO₂ emissions in the steel industry.
