Standing 48 metres tall, this entry/exit portal to the West Gate Tunnel is becoming a striking new feature on the skyline in Melbourne’s inner west. The timber structure above the portal – inspired by nearby waterways – is complete, and work continues to install the distinctive metallic cladding that sits atop the frame, with crews carefully lifting and rotating each 180kg aluminium triangle into place. #WestGateTunnel #TunnelTech #InfrastructureInnovation #ProjectDelivery #MelbourneTunnels

We’ve partnered with Koala Park Sanctuary in Sydney on a eucalyptus-ey answer to two questions. 🐨 Question 1: How does Koala Park, one of our M2/NorthConnex neighbours, source enough fresh feed for their koalas, which is an ongoing challenge for them? 🌲 Question 2: What’s a good sustainable solution for the clearing and pruning we have to do (for safety reasons) to the trees growing along our motorways? 🍃 The answer: We deliver the fresh, nutritious, and delicious offcuts of our vegetation maintenance work to Koala Park to help feed their koalas! This journey began when our team identified the opportunity to support koala conservation efforts while responsibly managing the natural resources along our road corridors, demonstrating the positive impact we can make when we work across teams and with our neighbours. We’re excited to watch this new partnership flourish and look forward to strengthening our commitment to local native animals and community in the years ahead.
