🎉𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞! Last week, we held our 𝟒𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 at the beautiful St Leo’s College - a milestone event designed to give our thesis students an authentic taste of professional life. From the moment students picked up their lanyards at registration, the day unfolded like a true symposium. With a formal welcome from Professor Lydia Kavanagh, the conference kicked off into a full day of presentations, discussions, and networking. Across four sessions and six themed streams, our undergraduate and postgraduate students presented their thesis work in 10-minute talks followed by Q&A - all formally assessed by their advisors and second markers. But it wasn’t just about presenting; students also had the chance to attend other sessions, sparking conversations and connections throughout the day. The buzz during morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea said it all - our future engineers were networking, collaborating, and celebrating their hard work with peers, staff, and industry guests. In his closing remarks, Professor Ross McAree reminded us that engineers are, at their core, problem solvers. He praised the creativity, dedication, and thoughtful solutions our students brought to the table - a true reflection of their commitment and the support of our academic and industry mentors. A heartfelt thank you to our industry partners, academic staff, and especially Professor Lydia Kavanagh for her oversight. And to our exceptional School Admin team - your tireless behind-the-scenes work made it all possible – thank you so much!! Here’s to our students as they take the next step in their careers. We couldn’t be prouder👏👏👏!
