Variscan Mines Limited (ASX:VAR) has strengthened its Novales-Udías Project in northern Spain with the acquisition of 146 historic drillholes totalling 52,034 metres, revealing multiple high-grade zinc and lead intercepts and delivering a major time and cost saving. Stewart Dickson, Managing Director & CEO, spoke to MarketOpen to further discuss key investor questions around the significance of the historic data, the role of the Hipólita licence, zinc market conditions, the broader district-scale opportunity and the next steps for advancing the project. Highlights: ✅ 146 historic drillholes added to database, saving A$12.9 million in drilling costs ✅ Outstanding intercepts from Hipólita including 9.5m @ 24.7% Zn and 2.7m @ 36.3% Zn ✅ Project area expanded to 111km², including granted mining tenements ✅ Zinc price now 3.5x higher than when Reocín Mine closed in 2003 “The acquisition of this historical drilling data is very valuable. It represents a significant saving in both time and cost.
