A major overhaul of Callide Power Station Unit C3 has commenced, one of the largest maintenance projects in the station's history. With a budget of $80 million backed by the Electricity Maintenance Guarantee, the overhaul will involve more than 60 specialist companies, a peak workforce of 360 people, and an estimated 190,000 hours of planned work. The overhaul is scheduled for completion in mid-November so that Unit C3 is ready for the summer peak demand period. CS Energy owns Callide C in a 50/50 joint venture with IG Power.

Our CEO Frank Calabria recently visited the teams at two of our regional power stations that are playing important roles in supplying reliable energy through the transition. At Mortlake, in south-west Victoria, the team is preparing for a major outage on Unit 12 to make sure we’re ready for peak summer demand, while next door construction is progressing on our 300 MW large-scale battery, that is set to come online in late 2026. Meanwhile in South Australia, Ladbroke Grove has had more than 400 starts in the past year alone, helping keep the lights on in a state where renewables now supply around 70% of the energy mix. #EnergyTransition #EnergySector
