The transaction will enable Telstra and Infosys to refer and leverage each other’s offerings and furthers Telstra’s ‘Connected Future 30’ strategy of focusing on core connectivity. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, employee consultation and other conditions.

The energy and curiosity that new talent brings is always invigorating. We recently welcomed a group of new joiners to Macquarie Bank's Digital, Data, Design and Engineering team and it was a great opportunity to discuss the skills that will define the next era of work in an increasingly AI-augmented world. While AI will undoubtedly reshape many activities, my genuine belief is that it elevates the importance of our uniquely human capabilities. Tech and tooling on its own won't be enough - I personally believe success in the future will be anchored in three key areas: A learning mindset: The pace of change is accelerating. The ability to continuously learn, adapt, and apply new knowledge will be more valuable than a single skillset. Consumers and small business could be hit hardest, facing less access and fewer options for credit, higher costs, and less support from the local players driving security and innovation in payments.

Today marks a significant milestone — 15 years since a pivotal change in Australia’s financial markets. On 1 August 2010, ASIC assumed responsibility for the supervision of real-time trading on equities and futures markets from the ASX. It laid the foundation for the integrated supervision and enforcement model that ASIC operates today — enabling us to deliver faster, more coordinated, and more effective outcomes for Australia’s financial markets. It was also a precursor for competition in equities markets, paving the way for the launch of Chi-X (now Cboe). These changes drove greater choice, innovation, and efficiency in our markets.

Yesterday in Canberra, Chief Executive Paul Schroder joined the Treasurer’s 5th Investor Roundtable, alongside other institutional investors, to discuss how Australia can unlock productivity and long-term prosperity. “The discussions on AI, data infrastructure and regulatory efficiency were timely and constructive. These are critical enablers of long-term national prosperity, and it’s encouraging to see alignment across government and industry on the need to act boldly and responsibly”, Paul said, commending the Treasurer for convening the forum and urging a focus on delivering outcomes. On artificial intelligence, Paul highlighted the opportunity for Australia to lead: "With the right infrastructure, investment and attitude we could become a data superpower, driving performance, productivity and prosperity."
