Our latest UX research uncovered a surprising truth: 58% of desktop sites and 78% of mobile sites deliver mediocre or worse product list UX. That means most users are left frustrated when browsing product lists, which leads to low engagement and, ultimately, lost sales. But here’s the good news: fixing it isn’t impossible. Because as part of our latest Product List UX benchmark, we’ve identified 8 best practices that consistently separate high-performing product lists from the rest, such as: ✅ Combine product variations into one list item Avoid clutter and help users quickly understand the actual range of products. ✅ Provide 3+ product thumbnails in product lists Give users the visual information they need up front. Two images aren’t enough; multiple thumbnails reduce the need to click through every item. ✅ Show both total price and unit price Especially when quantities vary, displaying price-per-unit empowers users to make fast, confident comparisons. 🚨 State of the Design Job Market in 2025. 1️⃣ Open design roles are climbing again — up 16% from last year’s low (now ~5,053), though still well below the 2022 boom. 2️⃣ Layoffs are easing — down from 430k tech layoffs in 2023 to a projected 183k in 2025. 3️⃣ Remote work has stabilized — 21% of design jobs are remote; ~20% looks like the new baseline. 4️⃣ The Bay Area is still the design capital — 16.6% of all open roles are in SF, with other hotspots in NYC, Seattle, Bengaluru, and Tel Aviv. 5️⃣ Public tech companies dominate — nearly double the openings compared to unicorns and early-stage startups; Amazon leads with 3X more roles than Apple. 6️⃣ AI is fueling demand for interface design — AI-native companies now have more design openings than marketplaces and hardware. 7️⃣ Senior designers are still in the driver’s seat — most roles require senior-level experience, but 1 in 3 target entry/mid-level. 8️⃣ Hardware–software hybrid roles are trending — especially as more devices become AI-driven interfaces. There’s a lot to be optimistic about — hiring is healthier, AI is creating new opportunities, and design remains essential to tech’s future.
