First, we’re not associated with, or endorsed by or have anything to do with the Andy Warhol Foundation or Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine.

What we are is interested in what people are really thinking, not what talkback radio, reality shows, mainstream press, morning TV, tabloid journalists, ‘experts’ or the media tell us they’re thinking.

We’re interested in what’s really going on. We’re interested in the world from other people’s point of view, in their words, not ours. We’re interested in what they like, what they don’t. We’re interested in the subcultures, the obsessions, the possessions, the status symbols, the ambitions, the relationships, the careers and lives of other people.

We’re interested in what interests them. Brands, music, sex, shopping.

About what they wear. What they believe.

We open a little window into the parallel universe that is the life of another person; the view can be interesting.

Ten Very Special Things is maybe the most interesting on-line store in the entire world.

We curate things; we look for interesting collectables, limited editions, things with a story and mass consumables with cult followings. We offer them for sale with a percentage of the proceeds going to a not for profit group.

We curate things; we look for interesting collectables, limited editions, things with a story and mass consumables with cult followings. We offer them for sale with a percentage of the proceeds going to a not for profit group.

The mission and purpose of Ten Very Special Things is to give people a way of turning something special that they own into a donation to their favourite cause and to give business a way of turning their products and services into a contribution to their charity of choice.

We fund the project through a 20% commission on each sale. While the site will generate revenue, our intention is not to make the partnership wealthy, but rather use what we know and the resources we have to create a platform that enable us to do something for the common good – it’s also a showcase for our expertise. We aim to maintain the site as world’s best practice for e-commerce and social media – it will be constantly evolving and we’re currently using everything from Tumblr to Instagram and Pinterest with a degree of success in generating site traffic.

Ten Very Special Things is a start up, while Sydney based, we’ve gone to market internationally. The project has been fully funded by private capital and resources provided by co-founder Trent Allen of Ziller.

By the third day the site was live we’d already gained over 5,500 fans on Facebook and made our first sales. (thanks to yours truely)

Even before launch we’d received ‘shout outs’ from celebrities including Ron Jeremy (one of the world’s best known porn stars) to Nigo, (founder of A Bathing Ape).

The site was developed and built by Ziller in Sydney.
