✈️ Avelo Airlines Secures Largest Investment Since Initial Funding   Avelo Airlines, America’s ultra-convenient low-fare airline, today announced it has closed on a new round of significant growth capital to support its continued expansion across the United States and the Caribbean.   This financing round represents the single largest investment in Avelo Airlines since the company’s initial Series A funding. This investment from a new partner underscores strong confidence in Avelo’s differentiated business model and track record since the airline’s launch in 2021. The proceeds will be used to fund growth in its scheduled service operation, make targeted technology investments, and enhance the overall Customer experience.   Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said, “Today marks another important milestone for Avelo. This new capital strengthens our liquidity position and positions us to continue delivering reliable, affordable travel options to millions of Customers who are underserved by other carriers. This investment comes at a pivotal time in the domestic airline industry and will allow Avelo to double down on an addressable market that is too often being priced out by higher fare airlines.”   Avelo recently closed the books on July, representing the company’s fourth fully allocated profit over the last five months, following approximately breakeven operating income in 2024 with no special items and no sale leaseback proceeds. Avelo’s core margins and cash position continue to improve organically, driven by revenue diversification initiatives and market maturation in our scheduled service operation. Australian aviation sector duopoly (by Qantas and Virgin Australia) will be challenged again as a new carrier is set to launch from late 2026, after the departure of the Ryanair inspired Australian Airline Bonza last year. Koala Airlines’ CEO Bill Astling said the carrier was likely to begin operations from late next year. Yet to receive an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), CEO Bill Astling claims the carrier has backers who “understand aviation” and a strategy fundamentally different from major competitors Qantas and Virgin Australia. In January this year, a creditor, Wealth Creation Pty Ltd had applied for the winding up of Koala Airlines Pty Ltd. even before it took-off. IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) and Aegean Airlines, the flag carrier of Greece, have signed an MoU for a codeshare partnership to expand connectivity between India, Greece, and beyond, subject to regulatory approvals. The agreement will allow AEGEAN to place its ‘A3’ code on a wide range of IndiGo’s domestic and South Asian routes, while IndiGo’s ‘6E’ code will be added to AEGEAN’s domestic and European network from Athens. IndiGo is set to launch six weekly flights to Athens in January 2026, while AEGEAN will begin five weekly flights to Delhi and three weekly flights to Mumbai from March 2026. The partnership will provide travellers with greater convenience, integrated itineraries, and through check-in, strengthening seamless travel options across both airlines’ networks.
