結婚後に口座の名義を変更するように求められることなどに対し、職場で旧姓を使用して働く女性を中心に不満が出ていた。現在は銀行によって扱いがまちまちだが、政府の要請で、前向きな対応が広がると期待される。 政府は７月、全国銀行協会に対し、「可能な限り円滑に」旧姓での口座開設などが行えるよう協力を求めた。女性の活躍を後押しするためだ。 銀行口座は現在、本人確認を徹底する観点から、結婚で姓が変わると、名義変更を求められるケースが一般的だ。大手銀行では、三菱東京ＵＦＪ銀行、三井住友銀行、みずほ銀行、りそな銀行は、所定の届け出をすれば、旧姓での口座利用を「認めている」とするが、積極的な周知はしていない。 さらに各行は「合理的な理由が必要」などという姿勢で、実際に旧姓での使用を認めるかどうかは、現場の裁量に委ねられているのが実情だ。
