Balzac Paris is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe in the importance of inclusion and equal access to information and our services.

This approach is part of our commitment to offering more sustainable and responsible fashion, a responsibility that extends to the digital experience of all our customers. We are actively working to continuously improve the accessibility of our content and our purchasing journeys.

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://balzac-paris.com/ .

1. State of compliance

To date, a full audit has not yet been conducted by a third party. Based on a self-assessment, the website https://balzac-paris.com/ is partially compliant with the General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA), version 4.1, and the international standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Non-compliance with certain criteria is described in the "Inaccessible Content" section. We are committed to implementing an action plan to correct them.

2. Accessible features

  • Accessible technical skeleton :
    • Systematic use of semantic HTML5 tags (<main>, <header>, <footer>)
    • Inclusion of a visible keyboard bypass link on focus to quickly access content
    • Default language specified (lang="fr")
  • Structured navigation and menus :
    • Keyboard-accessible menus with submenu management via JavaScript and ARIA
    • Indication of the active page with aria-current="page"
  • Accessible forms :
    • Fields labeled with <label>
    • Error handling via aria-describedby and aria-invalid
    • Required fields marked with aria-required
  • Adaptability and responsiveness :
    • Responsive interface that can be zoomed up to 400% without loss of readability
    • Smooth behavior on all device types and orientations
  • Dynamic components :
    • Modals, carousels, custom buttons enriched with appropriate ARIA roles
    • Focus trapped in modals with return to trigger on closing

3. Inaccessible content and exceptions

Some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible. We are working to identify and correct them.

Non-conformities:

  • Image Alternative Texts: Many images that convey information (product visuals, promotional banners) lack or lack relevant alternative text. This lack of information makes it difficult for screen reader users to navigate and understand the content. A priority project is being prioritized to audit and correct all alternative texts on the site.
  • Color contrasts: Some text and interface components (links, buttons, text on images) do not meet the minimum required contrast ratios (4.5:1 for standard text). This low contrast may make reading difficult for people with visual impairments. An analysis is underway to adjust our web graphic charter without distorting our brand identity.
  • Third-party components: Some integrated services provided by third parties may have accessibility issues. This may affect the payment module, the live chat widget, or the customer reviews section. We are committed to choosing accessible solutions for future updates and to escalate any issues to our partners.
  • Videos: Some of our promotional or presentation videos may not have full text transcripts or detailed audio descriptions.
  • Downloadable Documents: Some PDF documents (e.g., our guides) may not be structured to be properly read by assistive technologies.
  • Visible focus: On some complex interactive elements, the keyboard focus might not be visible enough.
  • Geographic map: The location map of our stores and points of sale is not fully accessible. A text alternative listing the addresses of our stores is available on the same page.

Exceptions for disproportionate burden:

No content to mention.
