About us

AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe / European Students’ Forum) is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration amongst young people in Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent, secular and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines – today it counts 13.000 members, active in more than 200 university cities in 40 European countries, making it the biggest interdisciplinary student association in Europe. AEGEE-Europe has currently three Focus Areas that we, as an organisation, are committed to: - The Eco-Responsible Society Focus Area- which aims for young people to contribute to a society that respects planetary boundaries. - The Bridges of Dialogue Focus Area - which aims for young people to act as ambassadors for peaceful and constructive dialogue to contribute to preventing and resolving societal conflicts. - The Digital Culture Focus Area - which aims for young people to be able to contribute to a digital society which allows for responsible and open discourse. The recognition of volunteering and non-formal education as an essential part of the curriculum of an individual is also one of our core commitments. One of our main goals is to empower our members, giving them the tools to become the leaders of the future. The knowledge, learning and soft-skills acquired by our members after organising and participating in a variety of events, conferences and training courses provide the perfect synergies between their formal education and non-formal education. Their volunteering skills, dedication, passion and hard work provide our member a competitive advantage in the job market, increasing their employability. In addition, our members are settled in a multicultural and multilingual environment which allow them to become citizens of Europe and the World.

  • Ambassador Handover 2025 – Brussels From 17–21 September, AEGEE had the pleasure of hosting the Ambassador Handover in Brussels, bringing together participants from AEGEE, Board of European Students of Technology, ESTIEM and EESTEC - Electrical Engineering STudents' European assoCiation. This unique event aimed to bring together the current and next generation of ambassadors to share knowledge, strengthen cooperation, and ensure meaningful partnerships begin right from the start of the term. 💡 The programme included workshops and training sessions on: • What it means to be an ambassador; • Discovering the other organisations and exploring collaborations and new projects (both locally and on the European Level); • Networking and external relations • Advocacy and grant opportunities But it wasn’t all work – there was also time to connect on a personal level, enjoy Belgian delicacies 🍫🍟, and experience Brussels at Night🌃. ✨ The outcomes? 🔹 A wealth of fresh ideas for stronger collaboration – both one-on-one and across all four organisations 🔹 Ambassadors are more connected and ready to act from day one 🔹 A clear wish to make this handover a yearly tradition 🔹 Most importantly: a strong foundation for future cooperation and friendships We are proud of what was achieved together and grateful to ESTIEM for co-leading the organisation of this edition. Here’s to a future of impactful collaboration across our networks! 💙

  • 🧠 “Mental health is not a luxury, it’s a right.” At AEGEE, we strive to create spaces where young people don’t just participate they feel safe, included, and empowered to be themselves. 🌍 Mental health is a vital part of that mission. That’s why we’re proud to be part of YouthReach, a project driven by one belief: Every young person deserves support that meets them where they are. From awareness to action, YouthReach is helping youth spaces become more inclusive, safe, and mentally healthy, especially for those from marginalised backgrounds who are too often left behind. 💚 Today, on World Mental Health Day, we remind each other: 💬 Check in on your friends 🧘 Take a mindful break 📢 Speak up Because being well isn’t a side goal, It’s the foundation of everything we build. Together, let’s keep creating a network that supports not just what we do but who we are. 💚

We would like to warmly congratulate the newly elected board of JE-Europe and also thank the outgoing board for their hard work and dedication over the past year. 📢 We look forward to continuing this collaboration towards amplifying youth voices across Europe, so stay close and follow us for more!
