  • Nice read/listen and a great reflection of what we stand for at Inuits. Kris gets to the core of it: 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐎𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐱, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐞. Built on openness, ownership, and real collaboration across teams. Add some purposeful automation and a strong belief in 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞, and you’re on the right track. Still, we see plenty of organisations "doing DevOps" without the fundamentals in place. #DevOps #PlatformEngineering #OpenSource

🦾 DevOps isn’t just a buzzword. It’s a cultural shift. I had the privilege of exploring this with one of the movement’s founders. I recently sat down with Kris Buytaert - a true DevOps pioneer, open source evangelist, and founder of Inuits - for a candid conversation about the past, present, and future of DevOps. 👉 We talked about breaking silos, embracing automation, and why so many “DevOps transformations” still miss the mark. Kris doesn’t hold back, and his insights are something every engineer, manager, or organisation should hear before taking the next step in their DevOps journey. 🎥 Watch/read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/ea7Vc_wK If you're an SRE, DevOps lead, or a CTO wondering "are we actually doing DevOps?" - this one’s worth your time. #DevOps #DevOpsCulture #SRE #EngineeringLeadership #PlatformEngineering #DevOpsTransformation #TechLeadership #OpenSource

What if your digital archives could talk to each other?
What if a photo, a poem, and a festival poster could tell one connected story? That’s exactly what we helped the City of Ghent achieve. Using Linked Data, we built a Digital Asset Management system that goes beyond storage, connecting meaning across thousands of cultural assets. The result?
A virtual museum that strengthens social cohesion, boosts accessibility, and empowers institutions to collaborate like never before. Curious how it works in practice? 👀 Swipe through the carousel to see how we turned scattered data into connected culture.

Platform Engineering might be the new hype on the block, but we’ve been at it for years. For over a decade, we’ve built self-service platforms with the proper guardrails, helping development teams move faster and safer. We just didn’t call it Platform Engineering back then. Some of those platforms thrived. Others... not so much. In this talk, Kris Buytaert will share what worked, what didn’t - and (spoiler alert) why communication was often the deciding factor. If you’re riding the Platform Engineering wave, you don't want to miss this one. 📍 See you at DevOpsDays Tokyo 🇯🇵 📩 Curious about the slides? Modern organizations are sitting on a mountain of data, yet they rarely tap into its full potential. That data is often scattered, hard to search, or incomprehensible to both humans and machines. In this session, AI & data expert Timo Kerremans will unpack the key ingredients of making enterprise data fit for modern AI applications. You’ll learn: - What “AI-ready” data really looks like (beyond the buzzwords) - Why most enterprise data strategies fall short—and how to fix that - Practical steps to bridge the gap between data silos and scalable AI use cases - How to think about data architecture, governance, and quality in an AI-first world Register here: https://lnkd.in/ekfWmKHz

"Is my software available?" That’s the first question researchers ask when starting on a high-performance computing system. When it’s not, valuable research time can be lost trying to get complex software up and running. For Ghent University, we provide a centralized software installation service on their HPC infrastructure — so researchers can focus on science, not software setup. With #EasyBuild, we manage a growing collection of scientific software, now surpassing 3000 distinct packages installed centrally across UGent’s HPC systems. And the number keeps growing based on researcher demand. It’s all about accelerating research with reliable, reproducible, and supported software environments.
