In the end : there's a white board full of inc 🖍️ 💡 What makes the course “How to produce Hybrid Events 🎥 ?” so exciting is that nothing is ever immutable. It’s constantly being updated. 👉 Talking about American university webinars before 2010 or even the Covid years now feels almost anecdotal. Yet, paradoxically it was that very period that accelerated the transformation of digital events into hybrid events and even into dual-events nowadays. Teaching this course means : 👀 staying in permanent watch mode, 🤝 asking questions and exchanging with peers, 🔅sharing the latest practices straight from the ground. Case studies have also evolved. With the progressive integration of AI, we already know that by 2026 hybrid productions will look different again. Some very concrete observations from students : ❌ surprise around lower-thirds (name tags on screen) that still don’t appear automatically and error-free. Not a given in every production yet though. 🧏🏽‍♀️ strong expectations for accessibility : sign language, live transcripts, inclusive tools for a wider audience. ✨ Hybrid events are a living material. The global events industry now has a table inside the ISO - International Organization for Standardization. Members voted to establish "Technical Committee 354 - Events", creating a dedicated home for standards and guidance in the sector. The move marks a major milestone in our industry’s effort to be recognised as a stand-alone field, rather than scattered across ISO’s already existing structures. The new committee will consolidate work that was historically split between various groups and channel input from major event associations. UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry said its chief executive, Chris Skeith OBE, has been proposed as the inaugural chair, while the French standards body AFNOR Group will serve as secretariat. Why Breaking Into Big Clients Feels Impossible ... Winning new business is always challenging, but in the events industry, the barriers feel even higher. You identify a large organisation, find the right contact, and reach out, only to hear nothing back. The truth is, breaking into major clients is rarely straightforward: - Many already have in-house events teams and aren’t actively looking for new suppliers. - Long-standing relationships with incumbents are hard to displace. - Even if you secure a meeting, convincing them to switch providers is another battle entirely. So how do you cut through? Stop chasing dead ends and start working smarter: 1. Focus on businesses with real gaps rather than trying to prise open closed doors. 2. Map decision-makers beyond the events team, the budget holder is often elsewhere. 3. Create a reason to listen by addressing their pain points with a clear, relevant solution. Business development isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about positioning smarter.
