How do Belgians really move in 2025? That’s the question at the heart of the new Polaris study by D'Ieteren, our strategic mobility barometer since 2021. Here’s what the latest edition reveals: 🚗 Cars are still king – 89% of households own one. But more families are questioning the need for multiple vehicles. ⚡ EV adoption is on the rise, especially among younger generations and fleets. Yet 1 in 2 Belgians want a charging point within 1 km of home. 🚲 Electric bikes are booming, with corporate bike leasing climbing to 41%. 🤝 Shared mobility is spreading in cities, especially with younger users. 💼 Mobility budgets? Still largely untapped – only 5% use them today. 🏢 Companies are accelerating the electrification of our fleet. One clear message emerges: Belgium’s mobility transition is happening – but at different speeds depending on age, location, and professional context. Their message: circular business models are already delivering - lowering costs, reducing emissions, creating local jobs, and strengthening competitiveness. The CARE4DIABETES project, coordinated in Belgium by Sciensano, supports people with type 2 #diabetes through a holistic approach: 🥦 nutrition 🏃‍♀️ physical activity 🧘 stress management 😴 improved sleep. The first results are very positive: 📉 better diabetes control 💊 reduction of type 2 diabetes medication ⚖️ average weight loss of 4 kilos 💪 healthier eating habits. Beyond the numbers, participants value the group support and the multidisciplinary guidance of healthcare professionals.
