Economic Boost for Belgium's Digital Future! @Google announced a new €5 billion investment through 2027 to expand its AI infrastructure in Belgium, a commitment made in the presence of HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium during the Belgian Economic Mission to the United States. Our first-ever transatlantic groundbreaking moment! This investment is expected to boost the economy by: - adding 300 new full-time jobs, bringing Google’s direct job total in Wallonia to over 900 - new investments adding over €1.5 billion to the GDP annually from 2026-2027 and supporting an average of 14,950 jobs per year As Prime Minister Bart De Wever noted, this is a "powerful sign of trust" in Belgium's role in Europe's digital future. The digital infrastructure is the engine for the estimated €45-50 billion GDP boost that Gen AI could bring to Belgium over the next decade.
