Earlier this week, we published a SQLBI+ whitepaper written by Kurt Buhler titled "AI workflows and agentic development for Power BI: An initial review". The whitepaper is accompanied by a 1.5-hour video that demonstrates four different scenarios where AI can support you in building semantic models and reporting in Power BI, including chatbot tools, augmented chatbots, agentic development, and asynchronous agents. Are we ready to let AI handle the job with minimal effort? Probably not. But it starts to make sense to see what you can do. It's not free, and not just for the tokens bill. However, someone may find the cost (in time, education, and tokens) already justifies the return on investment. The goal of the whitepaper is to give you a detailed overview of what you can do, with which tools, and what you can expect. Many people don't have time to test all the new toys in this arena and may not be aware of several of their capabilities. They are the audience we had in mind. If you want a detailed analysis and the right pointers to create a proof of concept in your company, or even to present to your colleagues what is happening, this content (whitepaper and video) could justify the cost: your time (less than what you should allocate to do your own investigation) and the SQLBI+ subscription (that many of you already have - just a better ROI in this case!).
