NBB has announced the launch of the NBB Customer Centricity #Engagement Programme, an internal initiative aimed at furher upskilling teams, enhancing customer-first behaviours, and reinforcing continuous #development across the organisation. NBB’s Group Chief Executive Officer Usman Ahmed recently met with Mr. Abdulaziz S. Abanmi, Deputy Governor for Payments at the Saudi Central Bank – SAMA. Organised on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group’s annual meetings, the discussion centred on NBB’s operational presence in Saudi Arabia and its #strategic plans for long-term #development in the Kingdom.

NBB has announced a strategic move to leverage Kinexys by J.P. Morgan the firm’s industry-leading blockchain business unit, to pilot next-generation programmable payment #infrastructure in the Kingdom. Formalised during Fintech Forward 2025, the collaboration will enable NBB to support more complex, conditional, and automated #financial flows through the Kinexys Digital Payments (KDP). With this announcement, NBB has joined leading global financial institutions using Kinexys’ #blockchain infrastructure to offer advanced financial rails to evolving corporate and institutional needs with the objective to manage liquidity efficiently and enhance interbank capabilities.

NBB announced the launch of the NBB Innovation Programme 2025 in #partnership with Bahrain Fintech Bay (BFB) during Fintech Forward 2025. The three-week accelerator aims to help early-stage #fintech startups integrate AI, refine business models, and scale their #solutions. The inaugural edition of the programme will carry the theme “Future of AI Integration” and feature distinct learning tracks covering topics around regulatory compliance, growth tactics, and utilising #AI to scale startups. NBB has been chosen by BPay Global, a leading #paymentservices provider under the Binance group, as its bank of choice in the Kingdom. Announced during Fintech Forward 2025, the partnership enables BPay Global to leverage NBB’s infrastructure to deliver secure and compliant #financial transactions, including a wide range of transaction banking products. The collaboration highlights NBB’s prominent role in supporting #fintech growth and advancing Bahrain’s position as a leading hub for digital finance advancement.

Highlights from NBB’s recent participation in Fintech Forward 2025 (FF25) as a Diamond Sponsor, the Bank’s third consecutive year supporting the Kingdom’s premier #financial #technology event.

NBB recently participated in a pioneering pilot leveraging Google Cloud’s Universal Ledger (GCUL) to test how this next-generation #paymentinfrastructure can enhance the efficiency of high-volume domestic and cross-border settlement processes. The Bank’s involvement in this initiative, which was coordinated by Bahrain FinTech Bay, reflects its ongoing #contributions towards positioning Bahrain at the forefront of #financialservices innovation in the region.

As part of NBB’s participation in Fintech Forward 2025, Group Chief Executive Officer Usman Ahmed joined in a high-level panel discussion titled “Charting the Next Frontier for Digital Assets.” He joined other thought #leaders to examine how blockchain-enabled #financialsolutions and instruments are transforming the sector, while also addressing the eventual complexities with inconsistent #technology standards and varying regulatory approaches across global markets.
