The UAE is crypto-ready with the Digital Dirham, their central bank digital currency set to launch later this year 🚀 The crypto-forward policies of the Emirates sets it apart as the UAE is one of the earliest movers and adopters of digital asset technology including: ✔️Government-led blockchain initiatives. ✔️Crypto regulatory frameworks (FSRA in ADGM and VARA in Dubai). ✔️Domestic Bitcoin mines (Phoenix Group & Zero Two/Marathon Digital - the Middle East's first large-scale, sustainable Bitcoin mining operation). ✔️Tokenised real estate (Dubai Land Department launched the world's first Property Token Ownership Certificate). ✔️Sovereign Wealth Crypto Investments (MGX, Abu Dhabi-based investor, made the largest deal in crypto’s history to date with an investment in Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange paid for in stablecoins for US$2 billion). ✔️Growing Crypto Hub & Ecosystem (Hub71 in Abu Dhabi, DMCC in Dubai, Digital Assets Oasis in Ras Al Khaimah). ✔️Blockchain Payments (AE Coin the country's first fully regulated, dirham-backed stablecoin and upcoming Digital Dirham which will be legal tender). Maalexi, a UAE-based B2B food and agriculture platform, has secured a shariah-compliant credit facility of up to US$20 million from Dubai-based investment firm Amwal Capital Partners, beginning with an initial $5 million tranche. Founded by Azam Pasha and Rohit Majhi in the UAE in 2021, Maalexi enables SMEs to participate directly in cross-border food and agri-trade by reducing risk, optimizing capital, and improving transaction security. Its platform uses proprietary technologies to manage credit, inventory, compliance, and logistics. In an interview with Inc. Arabia, Pasha, co-founder and CEO of Maalexi, explained how the new credit facility ties directly into the enterprise's broader vision for agri-trade. “Innovative financing models like this unlock access to structured, risk-mitigated capital, especially Islamic finance, while positioning Maalexi as a key enabler of regional food security through secured and sustainable SME supply chains,” Pasha said. “By integrating insured receivables with blockchain-authenticated trade documentation, we transform drawdowns into a fully digital, data-driven process—making trade transparent, compliant, and scalable. Saudi FinTech LDUN raises $4.8 Million seed round LDUN has closed a $4.8M seed funding round, led by Sadu Capital with participation from Suhail Ventures and numu Angels | نمو للاستثمار الملائكي.
