Yesterday afternoon and evening, we had the pleasure of bringing together all our teams from Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as partners, collaborators, suppliers and centres we serve, to celebrate a very special event: our 10th anniversary of driving social impact to improve the well-being and quality of life of thousands of dependent people.
17/10/2025
There are days that remain etched in our memory, and yesterday was undoubtedly one of them. At Lura Care, we had the privilege of celebrating our first 10 years in business with a moving party that brought together more than a hundred people at El Jardí de l’Abadessa restaurant in Barcelona.
We were joined by the entire teams from our three subsidiaries in Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as the invaluable company of many individuals, organisations and companies whose trust and support have been fundamental in getting us to where we are today.
10 years of social impact
After the guests arrived, Sergi Comas, co-founder and CEO of Lura Care, welcomed and thanked everyone in attendance, after which he introduced a video that traced the history of the company.
Through the audiovisual piece, attendees were able to learn about the origins of our company with its initial name, Dental Residency, under which we began to work exclusively in mobile dentistry services.
An innovative care model that allowed us to bring oral health services to the homes of thousands of dependent people or those with mobility issues who, due to their situation, were unable to travel to a dental clinic to receive the care they needed.
After consolidating our position as leaders in the sector in Spain, we took an important step forward with our evolution towards the new Lura Care brand. This marked a new stage in which we began our international expansion into Italy and the United Kingdom, and expanded our care portfolio with the addition of home audiology and optical services in Spain.
Today, we are a leading company in the field of home healthcare in Europe, with more than 120,000 people attended through our home-based model and collaborating with more than 1,000 nursing homes and day centres.
Recognising values and commitment
However, none of what we have achieved would have been possible without the trust and support of individuals, organisations and companies that have helped us and joined forces to improve the care sector.
For this reason, three key partners of the company, Sergi Comas, Arnau Ayza and Daniele Calzonlari, together with Xavi Comas, member of the Lura Care Board and patron and mentor of Ship2B, one of the leading impact investment vehicles, presented four awards in recognition of their commitment and shared values.
Cinta Pascual, president of the Catalan Association of Care Resources (ACRA), received the Recognition of Commitment for her invaluable contribution to the dependency sector at the helm of the Catalan employers’ association, and for her tireless work in defending the rights of elderly and/or dependent people.
The Recognition of Responsibility was given to Blau Almeda Care Home, part of the FIATC Residencias group, in gratitude for its intensive preventive work in the field of oral health for its residents, as each year it is the centre with which we collaborate where we identify the most healthy mouths.
The Recognition to Loyalty went to Desalup Care Home, one of the first centres to place its trust in our services, with which we have maintained close, uninterrupted collaboration over the last 10 years, ensuring the oral health of its residents and users.
Finally, Maria Quintana, who was the first medical director of Dental Residency and is currently the medical director of Impress in the Balearic Islands and CEO of Mind-Q Coaching, accepted the Recognition to Social Impact on behalf of our company’s entire team of dentists, who work every day to improve the health, well-being and quality of life of thousands of people.
Commitment to the present and the future
Before moving on to the cocktail dinner and networking and celebration, Sergi Comas also wanted to give special thanks. First, to all the people who are part of the Lura Care family, who every day demonstrate their professionalism, commitment and spirit of service to those who need it most.
He also wanted to highlight the fundamental contribution of the partners and investors who have maintained their confidence in the project throughout this first decade of activity.
These values, shared by everyone who is part of Lura Care, will be fundamental in continuing to bring home healthcare services to the homes of people who need them throughout Europe, wherever they are and whatever their condition.
Because these first 10 years of social impact have been an extraordinary journey, but we are sure that the best is yet to come. Let’s keep going!
