Subject: [ruby-core:116025] [Ruby master Bug#20147] FreeBSD libyaml

Issue #20147 has been updated by hsbt (Hiroshi SHIBATA).





I could install Ruby 3.2.2 on FreeBSD 14.0 with the following configuration.



```

./configure "--prefix=$HOME/.rbenv/versions/3.1.3" --enable-shared --with-readline-dir=/usr/local --with-libffi-dir=/usr/local --with-libyaml-dir=/usr/local --with-openssl-dir=/usr/local --with-ext=openssl,psych,+ --disable-dtrace

```



I'm not sure why FreeBSD didn't detect headers from `/usr/local` implicitly.

I use ruby-install to manage multiple Ruby versions. Some time ago I had issues installing Ruby 3.2.2 https://github.com/postmodern/ruby-install/issues/463, and the same issue was open for ruby-build in https://github.com/rbenv/ruby-build/issues/2184. I am trying to install Ruby 3.3.0 using ruby-install, and the same behaviour is occurring. Please, take a look in the links I have provided for detailed information.
