I'm trying to build ruby 2.5.0 for CentOS 6 and running into this same issue. There are good news and bad news. The good news is the fix has already merged into 2.5 so next release includes it. However, there can be security releases at any unpredictable moment. So no, we can't tell you when the next version will come. ---------------------------------------- Bug #14234: Failed to build on CentOS 6.9 https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/14234#change-69506 * Author: miyohide (Hidenori Miyoshi) * Status: Closed * Priority: Normal * Assignee: * Target version: * ruby -v: 2.5.0 * Backport: 2.3: DONTNEED, 2.4: DONTNEED, 2.5: DONE ---------------------------------------- CentOS 6.9gcc (GCC) 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-18) rbenv - ruby-buildRuby 2.5.0 ~~~ text [~]$ rbenv install 2.5.0 Downloading ruby-2.5.0.tar.bz2... -> https://cache.ruby-lang.org/pub/ruby/2.5/ruby-2.5.0.tar.bz2 Installing ruby-2.5.0...
