Last week, at the 6th Annual ETFGI Global ETFs Insights Summits – Middle East/GCC in Abu Dhabi, our Head of MENA, Rachel Pether, CFA, joined the insightful session on “Navigating a Successful Career in the UAE” alongside other senior women leaders to share her own experiences. “When it comes to building your network and staying relevant, it’s important to do it in a way that works for you. What do I mean by that? I’m an extroverted introvert – I love being around people and attending events, but I get all my energy from being by myself. When I map out my calendar, I only take external meetings three days a week, but I know that on those days I can be fully present and engaged,” said Rachel. She also highlighted one thing she wishes she had known earlier in her career: never underestimate the importance of your personal brand. It’s always good to have role models, but don’t try to copy someone else. It’s exhausting to be someone you’re not, and you’ll always fail. Be authentic.
