We're excited to welcome members of Germany's Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence this week here at Amii HQ in Edmonton. We look forward to learning more about their approaches to #AI and #ML research, education, trust and safety, and commercialization. Willkommen!
Ready for take-off – Lamarr goes Canada! 🇨🇦 ✈️ The Lamarr Institute's delegation is gearing up for departure – tomorrow, our researchers will head to Canada to kick off an exciting 1.5 weeks of scientific exchange and collaboration. The official program begins on Thursday at the University of Alberta/Amii (Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute), and we couldn’t be more excited! 🙌 With the Canadian National AI Strategy, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act and the German Federal Government’s AI Strategy, both Canada and Europe are advancing research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) under aspects of responsibility, sustainability, and explainability – an integral part of Lamarr’s scientific vision. 🤝 To strengthen this shared foundation and foster new collaborations, our delegation unites researchers from the four Lamarr locations and select partners from North Rhine-Westphalia to exchange ideas on key topics such as foundation models, AI in robotics and healthcare, and the responsible use and application of AI. 🎯 The goal: to build long-term, value-based research partnerships between leading AI institutes in Germany and Canada – and to turn promising ideas into impactful projects. The journey will start in #Edmonton, Alberta (October 16-17), followed by stops in #Montréal, Québec (October 20–21) as well as #Waterloo and #Toronto, Ontario (October 22–24). 👉 Learn more about our Canada Delegation Trip, participating researchers, and program here: https://lnkd.in/eu_ke5dn Who to meet: Lucie Flek, Holger Fröhlich, Michael Kamp, Axel Ngonga, Aimee van Wynsberghe, Mehdi Ali, PhD, David Berghaus, Florian Mai, Raphael Memmesheimer, Julian Eßer, Raphael Fischer, Matthias Jakobs, Stefan Weigand, Moon Kim. 🚀 Big news! I’m beyond excited to share that ImmerGen has officially come to life! ✨ 🎮 Last week, ImmerGen – Blending Realms showcased one of our immersive games at the Alberta Game Series as part of Edmonton Startup Week — hosted at Edmonton Unlimited and Amii (Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute)! It was such an incredible experience being surrounded by so many innovators, creators, and tech visionaries from the gaming world. 💡 💬 I had the chance to connect with inspiring people from the gaming industry and attend insightful talks about the future of gaming 🎯 💫 On a personal note, I was thrilled to meet the inspiring mentor, Mike McCready, MSc and attend his panel discussion about the future of Alberta’s game ecosystem alongside other brilliant speakers. 🙏 Huge thanks to Digital Alberta for organizing this unforgettable event — and a special thanks to Christopher Entwistle for facilitating the talks and giving ImmerGen such a great opportunity to exhibit. 🎤 Also, it was a pleasure meeting the event’s charismatic host Leif Oleson-Cormack, who made the sessions even more engaging and fun! 🙌 I’m also incredibly grateful to Bianca Koczan and Franziska Englberger for their support and dedication throughout this project. 💖 This is just the beginning — ImmerGen is here to blend realities, redefine storytelling, and push the boundaries of immersive experiences. 🌍✨ #Immergen #EdmontonStartupWeek #AlbertaGameSeries #DigitalAlberta #GameDev #XR #ImmersiveTechnology #Innovation #GamingIndustry #Edmonton #StartupLife #FutureOfGaming #Creativity #Tech

Congratulations to our partners at Visionstate Corp.! 🎉 It was great to collaborate with the Visionstate team on this AI development project. It's rewarding to see the model transition from our joint development phase right into commercialization. We look forward to seeing the impact the new model will have on facility management and other sectors.
🎉 Today marks a major milestone for Visionstate! Our AI development project with @Amii officially wrapped up, and we couldn’t be more grateful. The expertise and guidance from the AMII team were instrumental — we simply could not have developed this AI model without them. While the project phase is complete, this is just the beginning. The model now moves into commercialization, paving the way for groundbreaking applications in facility management and beyond. Thank you, AMII, for helping lay the foundation of something transformative. #AI #Innovation #FacilityManagement #DataDriven #YEGTech
