  • October is #CircularEconomyMonth, where we encourage residents, businesses and local organizations to rethink how we consume, produce and dispose of goods and materials. Last night, we came together to celebrate the incredible businesses who implemented reuse systems through the City of Toronto Circular Food Innovators Fund, and the dedicated members of the Community Advisory Committee who contributed to the development of the City’s 10-year Circular Economy Road Map. These changemakers are helping build a more connected, climate-ready and prosperous city and are driving a cultural shift toward reducing, reusing and repairing across Toronto. Thank you to everyone working to build a circular Toronto for all. Your innovation and collaboration are truly inspiring. 🌱

  • To build more homes in Toronto, we need to invest in critical infrastructure that makes housing possible. With $283 million in federal funding through Build Canada Homes, we’re putting the systems in place to support new housing. We’re expanding infrastructure capacity in the Downsview area to reduce flooding risks, protect water quality, and unlock new housing opportunities. The Black Creek Sanitary Trunk Sewer project will support population growth in the Downsview area and enable up to 63,000 new homes. To strengthen this partnership and project, the City is investing $425 million to ensure stronger, more resilient infrastructure and enable homebuilding. Downsview is home to Build Canada Homes’ first of six priority housing developments on federal lands. Located at Arbo Downsview, phase one of the project will create 540 new homes, with 40% or more made affordable. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gCK2tVjR
