This morning, Sergeant Twolan and Constable Portillo responded to an unexpected and heartwarming call on Upper Wentworth. Upon arrival, the officers assisted a mother and father in welcoming their baby girl into the world—right in a parking lot. Hamilton Police have welcomed 10 high school students to the 2025 Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) summer program! Funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, YIPI gives youth (ages 15–18) hands-on experience in policing, community engagement, and leadership development.
