North America's first fully digital hospital, serving the northwestern GTA.

About us

Five years since opening our doors as North America’s first fully digital hospital and we remain unwavering in our belief that we can change the hospital where we work, the community where we live, and the world of healthcare beyond our borders. Serving a community of 850,000 residents in North West Toronto, Equity Inclusivity and active participation in the North West Toronto Ontario Health Team are key initiatives that are important to our Team. At Humber River Hospital, we use a custom combination of technology and clinical expertise to rebuild elements of care. We make technology work for staff and physicians; giving them more time to spend with patients, to eliminate inefficiencies, and to reduce the chance of errors. We are formally affiliated with both the University of Toronto and Queen’s University and committed to becoming a community academic hospital. Clinical Excellence, Optimizing Care Through Technology and Community Connection frame our Research Strategy. At Humber River Hospital, we’re not hoping for a renaissance, we are making it happen. As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!

  • It's official – today marks the 10th Anniversary of Humber River Health’s Wilson Hospital! As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we reflect with pride on how far we have come, and with excitement for what lies ahead. The achievements of this past decade are a testament to the extraordinary dedication of our staff, physicians, volunteers, patients, families, partners, Board of Directors, donors, and community. 🌟 💙#CheersToTenYears In recognition of this milestone, we have also developed a special edition 10th Anniversary Magazine, “The Future of Care,” which celebrates our journey from North America’s first fully digital hospital to an integrated health system delivering care closer to home. 📰Find a copy in today’s issue of the Toronto Star, or visit https://lnkd.in/gVwGv7BB

  • Tomorrow marks a decade since we opened the doors to our Wilson site, a defining moment in Humber River Health’s history. To commemorate this milestone, we transformed our Portals of Care into “Memory Lane," filled with coffee, treats, and a special showcase of photos capturing the early days of construction, to opening day, to Humber “firsts,” and many moments from the past decade. Thanks to everyone who made this possible! Stay tuned for more #TenYear content to come! 🌟 #CheersToTenYears

We met with our Senior Leadership Team to tell us how.

  • This Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, we met with Jennifer who shared her story with us. 💜 At 22 weeks of her third pregnancy, Jennifer was referred to our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Clinic, where she was diagnosed with preeclampsia – a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure and signs of damage to another organ (often the kidneys). Faced with the devastating choice between terminating the pregnancy of her daughter or risking losing her own life, Jennifer and her family made the final decision to terminate the pregnancy. Jennifer is filled with gratitude for the team at Humber and the MFM Clinic and has joined the hospital’s Bereavement Committee – a multidisciplinary team whose focus is to support patients undergoing pregnancy loss. Despite her trauma, Jennifer remained resolute in her desire to grow her family, and, in 2024, she welcomed her fourth baby, Anthony, delivered by Dr. Andre LaRoche, our Chief of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
