#MuseInspireConference2025 has been without a doubt the best conference experience we've had as a team to-date. Every day has been packed with educational sessions—and they keep running long because people are so engaged, asking questions and digging deeper into the conversations. On Day 3 of #MUSE, I attended Molly Bloss and Naomi Smith's chat about Cascade Medical's road to MEDITECH optimization and caught Katie Via, PTA, and Trevor Clere’s talk on managing downtime. Both sessions were packed with insight, and a few key takeaways really stuck with me: 1. EHR is extremely difficult to implement perfectly with in-house resources when your facility is on the smaller-side, as it's difficult to get all the right SME's together to optimize your build. 2. Getting buy-in from every stakeholder group on complex projects is an uphill battle. Having a strong foundation of trust from the organization allows you to move forward and develop proof points as you look to solidify confidence every step of the way. 3. There are key non-negotiable necessities to have for a strong downtime playbook. Such as, a back-up instance of the EHR (what Wooster Community Hospital calls "Meditech Lite") and broadcast messaging systems to communicate unplanned downtimes. We at Hypercare have witnessed this first hand as we help our customers communicate downtime procedures when their EHR, power, labs, etc, are down. A broadcasted message is far more effective when staff don't regularly check emails at all hours 😉. 4. Downtime can hit in a lot of different ways - EHR outages, power failures, network issues… you name it. A good plan needs to be flexible and account for all the variables. *Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the entire meeting but you should definitely reach out to them directly if you're interested in learning more also... puppies. Definitely coming back next year! ------ #Muse #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #HealthcareLeadership #Meditech #EHROptimization #EmergencyPreparedness
