  • Are you a non-lawyer who works in the legal profession in BC? The Law Society’s Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination Task Force is conducting a survey to better understand experiences of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and bullying in the profession, and we want to hear from you. The anonymous, voluntary, and confidential 15-to-20-minute survey will help assess the prevalence of these experiences, barriers to reporting, and measures for addressing these issues. We invite participation from the legal community, including legal professionals and individuals who work and interact with them in professional or work-related social contexts. The survey is open from October 8 to November 21, 2025. Learn more here: https://ow.ly/9LLL50Xf45w

  • The Law Society’s Alternative Discipline Process (ADP) diverts lawyers under investigation from the regular discipline process into a confidential, consent-based remedial program addressing health issues linked to misconduct. Launched as a pilot in 2022, the ADP has proven effective and was made permanent earlier this year. Benchers have now approved in principle expanding the ADP to include other health-related competence issues and creating an Alternative Resolution Measures program for non-health-related conduct matters where a remedial approach serves the public interest.
