I recently visited McCainers in Mexico and Colombia, reconnecting in person and experiencing first-hand the incredible energy, commitment, and customer focus driving these businesses. These visits offered an important opportunity to reflect on our shared direction and reaffirm the purpose that unites us. ⬇️   Both markets are delivering exceptional performance. In Mexico, now among McCain’s top ten markets globally, strong execution and deep customer partnerships are unlocking remarkable growth opportunities. In Colombia, innovation and collaboration are transforming our supply chain, empowering local farmers, and strengthening community impact through initiatives like Campo Vivo.   What stood out most was the ownership, passion, and ingenuity of our people—harnessing digital tools to drive performance, embedding a safety-first culture, and strengthening communities through meaningful volunteer initiatives. To Luis Verdaro, Christian Garcia Carbajal, Fredy Alberto Rodriguez, and to the exceptional leadership teams across both business units, thank you for your warm welcome, passion, and relentless drive to raise the bar. You are moving from good to exceptional, building strong teams, and shaping an even stronger McCain on our journey to 20*30. ¡Gracias! 💛

Teamwork, innovation, and… onion goggles! 🧅🤓 Great to visit our McCain Foods North American Appetizer plants in Grand Island, Rice Lake, Appleton, and Plover this September. These sites are helping us win “more of the menu,” expanding our leadership beyond potatoes into delicious onion, cheese, and veggie snacks. McCain is about so much more than potatoes and seeing firsthand the care and dedication of our plant teams who bring these products to life and serve our customers with consistency and pride was truly inspiring.   It was also great to see everyone’s commitment to safety and their enthusiasm around our recent investments in new capacity and automation. Between a few tears at the onion-cutting deck and being fully kitted out for sanitization, I left with an even deeper appreciation for the incredible work our McCain teams do every day. A huge thank you to our plant teams for their ongoing commitment and hospitality during the visits and to Operations + Plant Managers April Garski, Chelsea Peabody, Eric Durand P.Eng. MBA, Lucas Gunderson and to Kerri Mayper for joining onsite. 💛 #WeAreMcCain

Witness the energy, ideas, and inspiration from our panel “Making Regenerative Mainstream: The Future of Farming Delivered to Consumers” alongside McDonald's at Goals House during #ClimateWeekNYC. ⬇️ Consumers are often unaware of the direct connection between farmland and the food on their plates—and the influence their choices can have. Even something as simple as selecting a French fry produced with future-focused farming practices can have an impact.   Thank you to our panelists for an engaging and collaborative discussion—catch highlights below. #WeAreMcCain 🎥: Beth Hart Charlie Angelakos Andy Cato Michael Wironen, Ph.D. Samata .. • Meet Louis, Potato Sourcing Director for McCain Foods in France and Belgium. 🥔⬇️   🚜 “Regenerative agriculture is a key approach for McCain in France. Its purpose is to sustain long-term potato production. By choosing regenerative agriculture, we improve resilience, yields, and crop quality.”   In partnership with our farmers, we developed a Regenerative Agriculture Framework which is used as a pathway to progress as we look to implement regenerative practices across 100% of acreage farming McCain potatoes by 2030. We’re pleased to share that since 2022, 71% of our global potato acreage has been ‘Onboarded’ and 24% are ‘Engaged’ on our Regenerative Agriculture Framework. 💛 #WeAreMcCain

Reflecting on an energizing few days at #ClimateWeekNYC. I was honoured to join global leaders, peers, and partners in conversations about the future of food and farming.   McCain Foods’ panel discussion “Making Regenerative Mainstream: The Future of Farming Delivered to Consumers” with McDonald's at Goals House, inspired critical conversations, underscoring that farmer-centric collaboration with business, finance, science, and consumers is the key to scaling regenerative agriculture. It was a privilege to share the stage and collaborate with Beth Hart, Andy Cato, Michael Wironen, Ph.D., Samata and Cameron Ogilvie. We moved beyond the definition of regenerative agriculture and discussed ways that continue to put the farmer first, while engaging consumers to truly scale future-focused farming methods. I also had the privilege of contributing to the L'Oréal-hosted panel “Radical By Design: How Bold Collaboration Can Drive a More Sustainable Future,” which highlighted the power of cross-sector collaboration to spark systemic transformation. Innovation remains vital to advancing climate action, but it cannot by itself deliver lasting progress. It was a wonderful dialogue with industry disruptors Ezgi Barcenas, Dr. Danielle Wood, Helen Clarkson, James Cole, Yannick Maestro, and moderator Wawa Gatheru. Thank you to my fellow panelists for their insights, and to Goals House for creating the space to drive these critical conversations forward. The momentum is building—and it’s clear that by working together, we can create a food system that’s more resilient and ready for the future. #WeAreMcCain #SBTi #ClimateWeekNYC

  • Last week at #ClimateWeekNYC, members of our global sustainability team joined critical conversations on the future of food and farming. From conversations with L'Oréal on radical collaboration, to dialogues with Lloyds Banking Group on financing to accelerate the transition to #RegenerativeAgriculture, we highlighted the critical role cross-sector partnerships and investment play in shaping resilient, future-focused farming. These, and other discussions over the course of the week, reinforced what we know to be true: lasting progress requires collaboration across industries, sectors, customers, and communities. Only by working together can we scale regenerative agriculture, cut emissions, and build resilient food systems that feed communities today and safeguard food security for the generations to come.   A highlight of the week was our panel, “Making Regenerative Mainstream: The Future of Farming Delivered to Consumers,” with McDonald's at Goals House—we heard from Beth Hart, Andy Cato, Michael Wironen, Ph.D., and Samata. Thank you all for your work, enthusiasm, and energizing discussion and to Cameron Ogilvie for the engaging soil health demo. You all highlighted the urgency—and opportunity—ahead of us. #WeAreMcCain #SBTi #ClimateWeekNYC

  • At #ClimateWeekNYC, our VP Global External Affairs & Sustainability, Charlie Angelakos, joined industry peers at a roundtable co-hosted by McDonald's and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi continues to be the gold standard for setting science-based climate reduction targets, and we were proud to be part of the discussion on building a more resilient global food system for the future.   McCain Foods was the first food company in Canada to receive SBTi validation — and we are proud to share that our 2030 greenhouse gas emissions targets have now been revalidated as we stay committed to reducing emissions and creating a more resilient future.   Independent validation by the Science Based Targets initiative gives credibility to our greenhouse gas emissions goals, ensuring they are aligned with the latest science. For a future-focused business like ours, environmental commitments are important: they build trust, and aim to leave behind a stronger, more resilient world for future generations.   We remain committed to uniting agriculture and climate action to accelerate the transition toward future-focused farming. #ClimateWeekNYC #WeAreMcCain #SBTi #ScienceBasedTargets

  • How it started ➡️ how it’s going! ❄️🌱🚜🥔 From winter frost to spring growth and harvest, our McCain Farm of the Future Canada embodies the hard work and dedication it takes to grow potatoes while testing regenerative practices that we’re working to scale across our global acreage. Through our partnership with farmers and the implementation of our Regenerative Agriculture Framework, we’re building healthier soils, optimizing water use, and supporting greater biodiversity — ensuring farming systems that are resilient season after season. Because future-friendly farming methods begin here: in the soil, and on the farm. 💛 #WeAreMcCain
