Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Join the global Wave of Light by lighting a candle at 7 p.m. to honor the babies gone too soon. Earlier this month, our Maternal Newborn Program hosted a weighted bear ceremony for families who have experienced the loss of a child. Each bear is crafted to match the baby’s birth weight, offering a meaningful way to reflect and remember. #PregnancyandInfantLoss

Thank you Accreditation Canada for spotlighting NYG to share how our journey to prepare for Accreditation also helped inform the development of our bold new 10-year Strategic Plan. Read the full story below!
North York General Hospital launched an ambitious 10-year Strategic Plan with a Vision to deliver world-class care, 24/7, to the communities it serves. The Plan aims to transform the multi-site hospital that serves over half a million people in the Greater Toronto Area into a thriving health care ecosystem built on people, partnerships and technology, all working in perfect harmony. It is a product of months of collaboration, listening and reimagining what is possible—a process that began around the same time NYG also embarked on accreditation and proved mutually reinforcing. North York General is no stranger to Accreditation Canada, having been awarded Exemplary Standing, the highest attainable status, several times. In the most recent survey, the hospital met a 99.8% of quality standards across approximately 2,000 criteria. NYG’s breast cancer care team are showing off their pink scrubs for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth! Thank you for providing exceptional care to our breast cancer patients all year long.
💟 A pop of pink, a whole lot of heart!💟 Members of North York General’s (NYG) breast health team are loudly and proudly showing their support this October for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. Did you know that NYG is Canada’s only breast cancer program accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers — and one of the highest-volume breast surgery programs in the GTA? As leaders in breast health, we’re working hard to bring a fourth donor-funded mammography machine to our community — expanding access to care, reducing wait times, and enabling 11,000 more screenings every year. You can help make this possible — please donate today and help change the future of breast health in our community by following the link here: https://lnkd.in/gKjkfSUu #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #HereForLife #NorthYorkGeneral #BreastHealth #ExceptionalCare
