Every day, Ontario’s doctors face immense personal and professional pressures — from rising workloads and administrative demands to inadequate resources. Many are left feeling mentally exhausted and burned out, yet they continue to deliver outstanding care for their patients. Too often, doctors struggle in silence, unsure where to turn for support with their unique challenges. That’s why, as OMA CEO, I’m proud to share a new video series featuring five physicians from across Ontario who generously open up about their experiences getting support through the Physician Health Program (PHP). Our goal in sharing these videos is to raise awareness of the wide range of confidential supports available, reduce the stigma around seeking help and champion physician wellness, especially as burnout remains high. This week, OMA President Dr. Zainab Abdurrahman visited Windsor to tour health-care facilities and connect with local MPPs and physicians. During her visit, Dr. Abdurrahman joined Amy Dodge on CBC Windsor to discuss health-care issues facing the region, including physician recruitment challenges and hospital pressures driven by funding constraints and a growing population. She also highlighted the innovation of the H4 Hub, emphasizing how coordination, shared infrastructure, and strong community support can bring all dimensions of health care together for better patient outcomes.
