As #ONTAgWeek comes to a close, we’re thrilled to share some BIG news! Our flagship project ClearWater Farm has been named a finalist for the ECO Canada 2026 Community Impact Award — a national honour recognizing leadership in sustainability, innovation, and environmental education across Canada. This recognition highlights our Agripreneur Program, which provides hands-on training and mentorship in regenerative agriculture for young people — especially those without generational access to land or equipment. ClearWater Farm is located in the Town of Georgina on a historic Lake Simcoe property, and we are proud to be growing the next generation of farmers who are leading the way toward a more sustainable future. 👉 Public voting is now open until October 31st — and we’d love your support! 🔗 Vote here: https://lnkd.in/gkGYdG-p The video below shares powerful stories from the Agripreneur Program — and the incredible young people driving change from the ground up. Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡 On this day, and every day, we honour, respect, and celebrate the Indigenous Peoples of this land. We honour the lost Indigenous children, residential school survivors and all the lives and communities affected by the residential school system in Canada. Last fall, we were honoured to welcome to ClearWater Farm, Joyce Jonathan Crone, President and Founder of Hope Arises Project Inc., an Indigenous-led not-for-profit whose vision is to revitalize Indigenous ways of being and knowing, with an aim to offer expressions of reconciliation through education, learning, and connection. She led our team through an orange ribbon reflection, where we each wrote down the names of children who died in residential schools. We said their names aloud to ensure they are not forgotten. Today, the ribbons lay tied to a growing tree, adjacent to the historic Trading Tree as an everlasting symbol of their lives, a reminder of the past, and a representation that everyone has a role to play in true reconciliation. More names and more stories will be added. It is important to our team that we continue this exercise, and we are so grateful to welcome Joyce back to the farm next month where she will continue sharing her teachings with us. And in a show of true reconcili-ACTION and unity of community, we are incredibly honoured to sponsor and attend Joyce’s Gala of HOPE fundraising event in late October. Featuring live performances from Indigenous artists, a ribbon skit fashion show, and a screening of her new film Red Girl Rising showing her life “as she reaches forward into her community, opening hearts and bridging gaps for Indigenous education.” If you are interested in learning more and supporting this Gala, you can purchase tickets here: www.hopearises.ca/events. We will continue to listen, learn, and work to amplify Indigenous partners and we encourage you to join us in using this day as an opportunity to engage in learning and how we are all accountable in advancing truth and reconciliation. Please visit nctr.ca to learn about the 94 calls to action and the children who never came home. Make sure they are never forgotten. Every Child Matters. Film Images 🎥: Hot Docs

We are thrilled to share our new sizzle reel, created by our partners Wind Sun Sky Entertainment! This video ties together our two leading projects, ClearWater Farm and Future Chicken, by telling the origin story of our favourite bird 🐔 From the farm ➡️ to the future! What started as an idea sparked by local kids is now inspiring kids across the globe, using positivity and humour to show how their actions can build a better future. And ClearWater Farm is (re)connecting young people with nature, growing kid-led ideas for climate action. A key partner in this work is Trent University's research on how kids can lead climate innovation. Here's to inspiring a community of bold, kind, and wildly creative young leaders! #TheClearWaterFuturesFoundation #CFF #CreateRipples #FutureChicken #CreateRipples #PlanetProtectors #PlanetPositive #ClimateHope

Future Chicken continues to expand on the Global Stage! 🌎🐔
Big news from the world of children’s books! Future Chicken landed in Seoul Korea last week at IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) event— where authors, illustrators, educators, librarians, and publishers come together to celebrate the stories that shape young minds. We created a special interstitial for the event, giving a peek into our award-winning universe that mixes humor, interactive storytelling, and multi-platform learning. All with one mission: to help kids tackle eco-anxiety, explore real climate solutions, and imagine a brighter, planet-positive future. So inspired to see Future Chicken continuing her global expansion into events like this, where storytelling and change go hand in hand. #IBBY #Sustainable #EcoContent #KidsIP #KidsEntertainment

September 7th is International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies 🌎 The UN Environment Programme reminds us how incredibly important this day is—because clean air is essential for our health, our climate, and our future. And today we’re proud to share a new Future Chicken video made in partnership with Our Kids' Climate and Warrior Moms —a playful but powerful way to help kids (and grown-ups!) understand why clean air matters and how we can all be part of the solution. Led by Future Chicken herself, this campaign uses a fun analogy to explain that the fight for clean air is both a sprint and a marathon: ✨ Sprint = quick wins like planting trees, riding a bike, or choosing to walk if you can. 🏃 Marathon = big changes that take time, like shifting to solar and wind power or driving electric cars. As the video shows, kids, parents, and communities everywhere are already stepping up—reminding leaders that the time to act is now. Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/gyZ9StBd Then—ride a bike, plant something green, or speak up about why clean air matters. Because everyone deserves to breathe easy under blue skies. 💙 #ClearWaterFuturesFoundation #CFF #CreateRipples #FutureChicken #InternationDayofCleanAirforBlueSkies

Uniting for Canada’s Freshwater 🇨🇦💧 Earlier this year, philanthropist John McCutcheon made a transformative $20 million legacy donation to launch the Canada Freshwater Challenge Fund — a bold commitment to protecting one of our country’s most vital and threatened resources: fresh water. That donation brought together seven leading organizations, now united as the Canadian Freshwater Initiative: 🌊 The ClearWater Futures Foundation (us!) 💧 DataStream 🌿 Nature Conservancy of Canada/Conservation de la nature Canada 🐾 WWF-Canada 🦉 Wildlife Conservation Society Canada 🌱 Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust 🔬 International Institute for Sustainable Development – Experimental Lakes Area This group has already come together multiple times — most recently at our very own ClearWater Farm. Located right on the shores of #LakeSimcoe, we explored how each organization’s unique strengths can combine to amplify national freshwater protection efforts. From education and science, to policy, conservation, and advocacy. In person, we were joined by John McCutcheon himself, our Founder and Chair Annabel Slaight, our CEO Susan Doyle 🏳️🌈, as well as Forough Shafiei, CFRE, Director of Advancement from Wildlife Conservation Society Canada, Thomas Saleh, Policy Advisor for Data & Tech at the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and Dana Kleniewski, Regional Vice President at the Nature Conservancy of Canada/Conservation de la nature Canada. And joining virtually, we were thrilled to have Mark Fisher, B.Sc, ICD.D, President of the Canada Water Agency, Katherine Balpataky, Executive Director of DataStream, Catherine Paquette, Freshwater Ecosystems Special at WWF-Canada, Louis St-Cyr, Chief Fundraiser with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, Aileen Barclay, Director of Conservation and Operations Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust, and Gordon Shallard-Brown, Communications Manager at the The Gordon Foundation. With threats ranging from pollution to climate change, and beyond, this work is urgent. The organizations forming the Canadian Freshwater Initiative is rising to meet the moment — with collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose. #TheClearWaterFutures Foundation #CFF #Freshwater #ClimateAction #CanadianFreshwaterInitiative #ClearWaterFutures #EnvironmentalLeadership #Nature #Conservation #WaterIsLife #Sustainability #Canada #Philanthropy #ClearWaterFarm

This past weekend, our Experiential Hub, ClearWater Farm, was proud to participate in the Town of Georgina’s Field to Table — and thrilled to have Mayor Margaret Quirk stop by for a visit! Our team is always proud to take part in this annual celebration of local agriculture—sharing hands-on, family-friendly experiences that help connect communities with where their food comes from and show how we can support local food systems, job development and a sense of well-being. We’re especially grateful for our strong, long-standing partnership with the Town of Georgina. Over the years, we've collaborated on a variety of projects and events, all with a shared goal: to provide accessible, nature-based programming that inspires a deeper connection to the land and the lake. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported this amazing event—we’re already looking forward to next year! #ClearWaterFuturesFoundation #CFF #WeCreateRipples #ClearWaterFarm #FieldToTable #Georgina #LocalFarms #CommunityEducation #NatureBasedLearning

Had such a wonderful time taking part in Field to Table on Saturday! For those who may not know - Field to Table is Georgina’s largest summer event, bringing the community together to tour local farms, try hands on activities, and learn more about food that is grown right here! I absolutely love working alongside this incredible team !💚🍅

We were delighted to welcome Angela Kruger, Executive Director of Abbey Gardens Community Trust, and Angelica Ingram, Manager of Tourism for the County of Haliburton, to ClearWater Farm last month! This visit was a meeting of shared values. Like ClearWater Farm, Abbey Gardens is a shining example of how community, sustainability, and education can come together to transform spaces and people. Located in Haliburton, Ontario, Abbey Gardens is a remarkable charitable organization dedicated to reimagining a former gravel pit as a thriving community hub focused on ecological restoration, economic development, and environmental learning. At The ClearWater Futures Foundation and ClearWater Farm, we also believe in the power of place to inspire change. At our 30-acre regenerative hub, we grow more than food—we grow people. From nature-based education to highlighting regenerative practices, our work echoes the same commitment to nature and well-being that drives Abbey Gardens. It was inspiring to connect with more passionate changemakers to see how our work complements one another. We look forward to continuing to learn from each other as we grow a future where we all thrive and live in harmony with nature 🌱 #TheClearWaterFuturesFoundation #CFF #WeCreateRipples #RegenerativeFarming #Community
