Twincredible Transformations Our Principal and CTO Brent Mauti and Digital Practice Manager Artyom Savin presented “From BIM to Digital Twin: Our Transformational Journey” at this year's Building Transformations Summit. They shared how Turner Fleischer moved beyond static #BIM models to create a living #DigitalTwin—integrating Revit, SQL databases, Autodesk Tandem, SharePoint, and Autodesk Construction Cloud into a centralized, connected ecosystem. With IoT sensors and real-time dashboards, this system now drives smarter decision-making, predictive maintenance, and more resilient operations. Thank you to Building Transformations for the opportunity to contribute to the dialogue on shaping the future of design and construction. #TFLeads #technology

Curiosity Built The Cat From exploring every facet of Architecture—#technology, #sustainability, and #teaching—to shaping Studio standards and guiding teams, Associate Nick Bowker approaches leadership as a continuous process of learning and discovery. In our latest article, Nick reflects on how staying curious keeps work exciting, how collaboration drives growth, and why taking on challenges outside your comfort zone is the best way to learn. #TFLeads #Architecture #LeadershipBrand

The Jury’s Out Our Principal and CTO, Brent Mauti, was invited by Patrick Saavedra to serve on the jury panel for the IPLAN Bridging Program for Architectural Professionals at Toronto Metropolitan University. Brent reviewed five groups of emerging professionals as they took a project through Schematic Design completion, focusing on the program, the Ontario Building Code, Materials + Methods, Sustainable Strategies, and BIM. What stood out was the integration of BIM in end-to-end modeling, code compliance analysis, clear articulation of sustainable goals, and well-defined materiality. Their work demonstrated how technical rigour alongside the creativity and problem-solving will shape the future of our profession. Thank you to Patrick and Toronto Metropolitan University for the opportunity, and congratulations to all the students for setting a high standard for the next generation of Architects. #Architecture #Education #FutureofDesign #BIM #Leadership

Mind The Gap Last week, our People + Culture Business Partner, Nina Woock, CHRL, Social Impact Specialist, Madeline Buzzi, and WELL Accredited Professional (AP) Job Captain Nadia Francesca Pasqua, joined CAMH and the University of Toronto for the Mind the Gap: Mental Health, Housing, and the Future of Toronto event. The discussion reinforced a critical truth: mental health is health—and housing is healthcare. CAMH’s Finnish model demonstrated how stable housing forms the foundation for healing, recovery, and belonging. In contrast, access to supportive environments in Toronto decreases the further we move from the core—challenging us to rethink how our city supports mental well-being through design and policy. Diverse housing options with staggered supports, and collaboration across sectors to share knowledge and innovation, is essential to addressing the housing crisis and strengthening our communities. Thank you, CAMH, for opening the dialogue and reminding us that building homes means building systems of care—and that responsibility is shared by all of us. #TFSocialImpact #MentalHealth #Housing #Community #DesignForGood

Paw-sitive Design At the heart of the Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides (LFCDG) is a powerful mission—training dogs, pairing them with clients, and ensuring both can thrive together. Our goal in this project was to design a facility that supports every step of that journey. Through discovery sessions with each of LFCDG’s seven service programs—Service Dog, Hearing Dog, Canine Vision Canada, Diabetic Alert Dog, Seizure Response Dog, Autism Assistance Dog, and Facility Support Dog—we collaborated closely with the client to define their specific needs. Our #InteriorDesign team created dedicated training rooms and connected classrooms, designed to support both structured instruction and hands-on learning with their service dog. These spaces bring clarity, consistency, and purpose to the training journey, fostering confidence, trust, and independence. Through close collaboration with our Client, we transformed this facility into a place that builds lasting partnerships between people and Dog Guides. #TFProjects #DogGuides #AccessibleDesign

Ctrl + AI + Deliver Our Digital Practice Manager Artyom Savin and Senior Software Developer Daniel Naughton attended the 2025 AU Conference in Nashville—where it became clear: it’s time to reimagine project delivery. The formalization of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) as an industry standard has enabled Autodesk to develop MCP servers that provide a powerful toolkit for LLMs to interact with design data, laying the groundwork for next-generation, AI-driven design workflows. Autodesk’s investment in the AEC data model marks a pivotal shift from file-centric workflows to a data-driven approach — accessing design data at a granular level to enable smarter, faster, and more context-aware collaboration. This evolution unlocks powerful capabilities, from real-time querying and analytics to data-informed decision-making across the project lifecycle. At Turner Fleischer, we’ve built in-house platforms that unify our operational data, giving us a unique opportunity to connect it with Autodesk’s emerging design data ecosystem. This integration will bring full connectivity between all of our project data, and will enable generative design and natural language querying shape how we create, analyze, and optimize the built environment. #TFLeads #AutodeskUniversity #AI #AEC #DigitalPractice

Reframing Profitability At this year’s PSMJ Resources, Inc. #ThriveConference, our Principal, CEO, and CFO, Ellen Bensky, delivered a keynote that challenged a long-standing industry mindset: that profitability depends solely on billable hours. In her session, “The Profit Paradox: How Non-Billable Teams Drive Your Bottom Line,” Ellen shared how Turner Fleischer restructured its practice by embedding operational teams—Digital Practice, Marketing, People + Culture, Finance, Knowledge Management, and Learning + Development—as the foundation of our practice. Thank you PSMJ for giving us the opportunity to share our story. #TFLeads #PSMJThrive #AECExcellence
