We have completed the privatization of Innergex and are announcing the mobilization of a syndicate of Québec and international investors—including Investissement Québec, Desjardins Gestion internationale d’actifs, Fondaction, and 14 Swiss institutional investors —who share our vision. “Innergex is a Canadian renewable energy leader and plays a key role in the energy transition. To shift into a higher gear, the company needed shareholders aligned with its long-term potential, protected from stock market cycles. That’s why we brought together a syndicate of Québec and international investors who share this vision,” said Emmanuel Jaclot, our Executive Vice-President and Head of Infrastructure. “This privatization immediately provides Innergex with increased financial agility to accelerate the development of large-scale projects. This week we are proud to celebrate a landmark day in Edify Energy's journey.    A conditional sale agreement has been signed for Edify to be acquired by global investment firm La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec).  This is a great outcome as we look to supercharge our business and take our 11GW pipeline of renewable energy projects to the next phase.    As well as providing capital, the deal will help deliver two near-term hybrid solar and BESS projects, totalling 900 MW / 3,600 MWh, for offtake partners Rio Tinto and the Commonwealth of Australia.    Since its founding in 2015, Edify's talented team has helped create one of Australia’s leading renewable energy companies, with innovation at its core.     We pioneered the country’s first utility-scale solar and battery storage project in 2018 and have gone on to deliver 11 projects across NSW, Queensland, and Victoria, totalling more than 1.1 GW of capacity.     Edify Founder and Executive Chairman John Cole said: “The agreement with La Caisse is a pivotal moment for Edify, providing balance sheet strength to seriously ramp up Edify’s speed of execution of firm dispatchable green generators.     "I am so very proud of the business that Edify has become and the exceptional team that creates and delivers the solutions to meet and exceed the needs of our customers and the grid."    This is an exciting new chapter in Edify's history, allowing us to accelerate our mission to support Australia's transition to a clean energy future.    Read the full media release here: https://lnkd.in/gJPvnvaS

Some time ago, I had the opportunity to visit Edmonton International Airport (YEG) , Canada’s largest airport by land area. The purpose of the visit was to meet with YEG’s senior leadership and explore the Airport City Sustainability Campus — a dynamic hub of emerging and established technologies focused on decarbonization across sectors. The campus spans over 170,000 square feet of office space and houses five incubators. More than 30 companies operate within this ecosystem, collectively creating over 300 jobs and driving innovation in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. This visit also marked the beginning of STAT Publishing Group’s partnership with YEG to produce a video series on the sustainable future of transport. During my time at YEG, I had the unique experience of driving a vehicle powered by a non-combustion engine — the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). What makes this car remarkable is its ability to generate electricity by combining hydrogen with oxygen from the surrounding air, emitting only water as its sole tailpipe output. It was my first time behind the wheel of a hydrogen-powered car, and it was truly eye-opening. It’s worth noting that only a handful of automotive companies currently possess the technology to manufacture hydrogen-powered vehicles, and globally, only a few thousand are in operation.
