Ok, so today is the OCA, the Odoo Community Association contribution Tuesday and it's Helpdesk o'clock ⏱️ For some of Odoo users the Helpdesk app is something associated solely with Odoo Enterprise. Meanwhile there is an open source alternative from the OCA, the Odoo Community Association: https://lnkd.in/eF6kVbyU And although it may seem that the basic functionality of the Odoo EE helpdesk is much superior of those the OCA one, the core advantage of the OCA solution is that it's open-source and thus new features can be added easily not constrained by commercial license. ERP is evolving. Faster than most businesses realize. I just came back from Odoo Experience 2025 in Brussels, and here’s what stood out: What worked before built the foundation ERP helped teams organize, collaborate, and streamline. Operations became smoother and predictable. Now, Odoo 19 opens a new chapter AI, smarter workflows, and faster usability are taking ERP to the next level. If I were implementing ERP today, I would focus on: 1. Automation first Manual processes are too slow and costly. Odoo 19 automates lead scoring, field completion, even voice-to-text. Efficiency is no longer optional. 2. Usability matters ERP only works if people use it. With redesigned Kanban, Gantt, and flexible workflows, adoption becomes natural. Simplicity drives growth. 3. Strategy beats features ERP by itself won’t transform a business. Aligning it with your vision will. Tools enhance strategy, they don’t replace it. Odoo 19 – Smarter Vendor Bill Workflow In earlier versions, creating a vendor bill from a Purchase Order was as simple as clicking Create Bill. With Odoo 19, the process is redefined. The button is now Upload Bill: 📌 Upload the supplier’s invoice (PDF/scan) 📌 A vendor bill is auto-generated 📌 The invoice is attached for seamless record-keeping This upgrade is powered by Document Digitization, making vendor bill processing faster, more accurate, and far less dependent on manual entry. 💭 Here’s a thought: Should Odoo have kept both options – manual entry and PDF upload? 🔎 And for those who still prefer the old way – no worries.
