When I graduated from Penn Technical Institute in 1979, Penn Technical Institute was located in downtown Pittsburgh and offered two year Associate Degree. In 1996, Pittsburgh Technical College acquired Penn Technical Institute.

The curriculum included extensive study of the practical application of electrical and electronic devices along with associated theory.

The PTC hands-on approach to education and active learning environment replicates the reality of a workplace so closely that PTC students enter the workforce with the ability to work in a team environment, interpret customer needs, communicate well, interact effectively with people, and analyze problems.

Each semester included lab work to coincide with the theory classes.
