The #GovernmentOfCanada is committed to making data more accurate and easier to use. Data and Metadata Reference Standards help ensure data is stored and displayed in a consistent way. This makes it easier for different systems to work together and improves the overall quality of data! TBS recently published two new standards to support better data use: 🗂️ The Metadata Reference Standard for Digital Archival Records helps make sure archived digital records are easier to find, use, and keep safe over time. It follows the 2023 standard from Library and Archives Canada | Bibliothèque et Archives Canada and supports better system compatibility. 📊 The Data Reference Standard (DRS) on Government of Canada Organization Names and Codes provides a list of current GC organization names, each with a unique code. This helps departments describe organizations in a consistent way, even if names change - making government data more accurate and easier to connect across systems.
