Earlier this year, Pembina entered into agreements for a 50% interest in the Greenlight Electricity Centre Limited Partnership to build a large-scale natural gas power facility located at Pembina’s Low Carbon Complex in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The project, led by Kineticor, would supply power to data centres and could connect to existing and future energy and emissions management infrastructure. ATCO today announced that its subsidiary, Canadian Utilities Limited, has received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission on the Need Assessment Application for the Yellowhead Pipeline Project, marking a major milestone in the development of Alberta’s energy infrastructure. Progressing this strategic energy infrastructure represents a key milestone in ATCO’s growth strategy across energy, housing and defence. The project is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs and supports an average of 12,000 jobs annually through related downstream investments. ✅ Fluor Corporation Joint Venture Awarded Front End Engineering and Design for Proposed Second Phase of LNG Canada Facility in BC The plant is the first-of-its-kind in Canada with an annual production capacity of up to 14 million tonnes of LNG. A Phase 2 expansion would increase the facility’s processing, storage and shipping capabilities.
