About us
🔬 𝗟𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗, 𝗔 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗦 🦠 Our roots go all the way back to the late 19th century when family-owned Lallemand was founded in 🍁Montreal, Canada as a yeast manufacturer. The company flourished to become a global expert in the development, production, and distribution of microorganisms - specifically yeast, bacteria, and their derivatives. Today, Lallemand is a leading provider of microbial solutions for dozens of industries, including Plant Care. 🌿 𝗟𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 🌳 In 2006, Lallemand focused its experience in microbiology and fermentation to reproduce natural symbioses, between plants and microbes, for the most efficient and sustainable growing environment. Since then, Lallemand Plant Care has expanded significantly, with international expert companies joining the business unit - through acquisitions - emphasizing its know-how and enabling it to become a market leader in the development and marketing of the highest quality microorganism technology. 👨🌾 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 👨🌾 🌱 Inoculating a crop means artificially recreating a natural mechanism that would have been created over a very long period of time – a time not available in agriculture. 🌱 Supporting your seedlings or plants with microbial partners selected for their properties is thus relevant, effective and environmentally friendly. 🌱 Using sound science and know-how, we select and develop the right strains for the right applications – to ensure the greatest impact.

💡 Fighting Thrips: Technical Trials in Onion Crops! During this hot and dry summer period — ideal conditions for thrips development — our Field Solutions team was recently out in the field in France, monitoring a series of technical trials on onion plots targeting this pest, which is particularly active right now. With Adrien RICHARD, Lucie Martin, Noé MERLEY. This small yet damaging insect hides in the folds of the leaves and feeds by puncturing plant cells, causing visible silver lesions on the surface. In addition to weakening plant tissue, its feeding reduces photosynthesis, impacts bulb development, and can lead to significant yield losses if not managed properly. 🦠 At Lallemand Plant Care, we believe in the power of microorganisms to help growers manage these kinds of challenges. Our solution LALGUARD M52 OD, based on an entomopathogenic fungus, has already shown consistent and significant results in the fight against thrips. 🔍 These trials are part of our ongoing commitment: validating our solutions under real-life field conditions and staying closely connected to growers to offer effective, sustainable, and crop-friendly approaches. #Thrips #Onion #CropProtection #Biocontrol #Microorganisms #LallemandPlantCare #FieldSolutions #LALGUARDM52OD #SustainableAgriculture

As a proud IBMA member, we welcome these key steps towards a faster, clearer regulatory path for biocontrol in Europe! 🌱 #Biocontrol #SustainableAgriculture #WeAreBiocontrol
🌿 Important Developments in Biocontrol at the European Parliament! 🌿 The European Parliament has published amendments to the draft of the own-initiative report (INI) on #biocontrol. This draft report from the European Parliament Committees on #agriculture and the #environment has cross party support. The report and any agreed amendments , committee discussions and the eventual vote (expected in October) pave the way for Parliamentary debate on the simplification procedure on targeted changes to regulation 1107/2009 in Q4 2025. IBMA welcomes the draft report and tabled amendments that contain key asks to accelerate biocontrol authorisation and access for farmers including: • Re-introduction of provisional authorisation for biological control • Facilitated Label Extension of biocontrol solutions • The removal of the automatic re-registration procedure for biocontrol unless new scientific questions arise • Improvements to mutual recognition of biocontrol solution by Member States • The need for a new dedicated regulatory framework for biocontrol • Centralized EU system for the evaluation and authorisation of biocontrol. These developments clearly acknowledge the biocontrol industry’s needs and concerns and provide a first step to future regulatory improvements for biocontrol in Europe and so availability of pest and disease control options for European farmers. For more detailed information, you can follow the progress of the report here: https://lnkd.in/efRMRTDH) We continue to support and advocate #sustainable and #innovative solutions in #agriculture! 🌱 #Biocontrol #Sustainability #EuropeanParliament #IBMA #AgricultureInnovation #WeAreBiocontro #GrowWithBiocontrol #PolicyAsks

By infecting the roots and then spreading to above-ground parts, this soil-borne disease can lead to severe yield losses. Its main survival strategy? Sclerotia — hardened fungal structures that can persist in the soil for over 10 years, serving as a constant source of inoculum. 🛡️ How can you reduce its impact on your crops? 👉 Learn more about the Sclerotinia life cycle and effective prophylactic practices in this video. 📽️ Watch now 👉 https://lnkd.in/eumFnUJ5 #Sclerotinia #WhiteMold #LALEXPERT #LallemandPlantCare #Lallemand #CropProtection #SustainableAgriculture Product uses and regulatory approvals may vary by country or region.
