Webinar Announcement: The problem in the water sector is not a lack of solutions. It is scaling the ones that already exist. Across the globe, hundreds of entrepreneurs are building viable water supply enterprises but only a few achieve scale. Why? And how exactly? Drawing on more than a decade of experience, we analysed what it takes to scale some of the most common water supply business models, from household water filters and kiosks to mini grids and hand pump maintenance. The results are compiled in our publication Scaling Blueprints of Water Supply Business Models. To make these insights accessible, we are launching a short webinar series, each session dedicated to one business model and its key success factors. The first webinar will take place on 30 October 2025, hosted by Janek Hermann-Friede, author of the publication. Learn more and register here:

Cewas hat dies direkt geteilt
Two weeks ago, we came together in France for our annual team retreat with our sister organisation Cewas. Between strategic discussions and resource planning, we recharged, connected and tapped into creative energy with clay and music sessions, hiking and even horse riding. It was a very full week and we still look back on with joy. #seecon #innovations #sustainability

Sanitation is rarely in the headlines. Many prefer not to think about it. It is not considered a “sexy” topic. Yet entrepreneurs across the world work tirelessly so that we do not have to worry about it. One of them is our alumni Semukoteka Abubaker and his team at Brilliant Sanitation. Featured in the Daily Monitor, they show how determined entrepreneurship can tackle one of Kampala’s biggest challenges: sewage management. Starting from scratch, they now operate a growing fleet and provide affordable pit emptying services for underserved communities. We are proud to have supported Abubaker and his team through our Sanitation Accelerator and the Majifund, helping them grow their impact and bring sanitation solutions to scale.

Hello from Stockholm at World Water Week, Yesterday, Marlies Batterink shared an inspiring update on the Majifund. We launched this fund at last year’s SWWW and since then we have made substantial progress. 19 investments have already been made, proving that tangible results in the WASH sector can happen quickly. The strong interest we are seeing makes us optimistic about the path ahead. Today, we are joining forces with Viva Con Agua to show how we can change WASH as we know it. Make sure to stop by the Apéro and Networking later today.
