💡Earlier in September, #GlobalShapers in Germany joined the WEF Innovator Communities x DLD Gathering in Munich — a special meeting bringing together members of the Innovator Communities and select guests from the local ecosystem to share fresh perspectives on innovation, media, and impact. Hosted at Hubert Burda Media, a cornerstone of German media innovation since 1903, the gathering created space for meaningful conversations between innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

🌎 From 7-8 October, the World Economic Forum and the Government of Mexico came together to discuss a renewed national vision built on food, energy, and technological sovereignty. This landmark meeting gathered leaders from government, business, and civil society to accelerate the country’s transition toward a regenerative economy. Amid this historic dialogue, young voices took center stage. 12 young leaders from #GlobalShapers Hubs in Mexico, represented the next generation’s take on sovereignty, innovation, and resilience. "In regions historically exposed to informal or violent economies, building pathways into technology and innovation can open dignified opportunities for younger generations, reducing vulnerability to criminal recruitment by expanding their horizon of possibility." - Pedro A. I left the IUCN World Congress with a renewed appreciation for multilateralism rooted in science and values first, and politics second. Also grateful to netzero for the invitation to speak on the IUCN Arabia hosted side event “Measuring the Long-Term Impact of Ecosystem Restoration”. In times of societal complexity, youth bring what institutions need most: foresight. That’s why 15 #GlobalShapers and alumni now serve on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils, working alongside other stakeholders to advance thematic expertise on the most relevant issues of our times. 📌 As they gathered at #AMGFC25 this week, the discussion centered on the Youth Framework for Action. "This approach ensures that youth perspectives don’t just inform dialogue, but actively shape how community insights inform global foresight, and how that foresight translates into tangible outcomes on the ground." - Tariq Al-Olaimy Behind these 15 Council members are 500 youth Hubs and 10,000 young leaders worldwide, functioning as the civic infrastructure that connects local action to strategic decision-making. ✅ The question participants reflected on: It’s not whether youth have something to offer our institutions. On this #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re reminded that behind every positive social change is a person. 🙋♀️ Someone with a 9-5 job who still finds time to give back to society. 🪴Someone who feels the weight of the world, yet driven by constructive hope. 🫂Someone who shows up. Not just for themselves, but for their community. And it’s in that spirit of showing up that the Global Shapers Community thrives. More than a network, this community has become a space of care, support, and solidarity for young changemakers around the world.

🌉 Iberia united in Porto! Sixty-one #GlobalShapers from Portugal, Spain, Quito, Panama City, Rabat, Tirana, and Turin gathered for the Iberian retreat to celebrate youth leadership and the powerful act of #BuildingBridges. The event opened with a keynote by Suzana Menezes, Metropolitan Secretary for Culture, Heritage and Creativity at the Porto Metropolitan Executive Committee, who reminded us that “when cities unite, they do not erase differences, they amplify possibilities.” Throughout the weekend, participants explored regional goals, the evolution of the community in Iberia, and opportunities for collaborative projects, culminating in sessions that celebrated the collective energy, vision, and creativity shaping the Iberian region. 🤝Do Porto para o mundo, estamos a transformar diálogo em impacto.
