We are proud to share that our poster, “Seamless Scaling of Applications Across Programming Models”, has been accepted at the #SC25 ACM SRC Poster Session. We compare coding complexity and performance of C++, Python, Julia, and DaphneDSL for graph analytics. Julia outperforms C++, Python, and DaphneDSL, while DaphneDSL seamlessly scales on local and distributed parallelism settings, both exposing the trade-off between speed and developer productivity. Looking forward to connecting with the #HPC community and exchanging these and other ideas. 📍St. Louis, MO, USA 📅 November 16-21, 2025 Reto Krummenacher, Quentin Guilloteau, Jonas H. Info

We had an amazing event, engaging with a wonderfully diverse crowd: from curious kids to seasoned coders, from newcomers to hardcore fans. The energy, the conversations, and the shared enthusiasm for computer science made this an unforgettable experience. This would not have been possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. We are deeply grateful to Oleksii Tkachuk, Shiva Parsarad, Reto Krummenacher, Jonas H. Müller Korndörfer, David Lengweiler, Giovanni U., Corinne Wyss, Krishna sri chaitanya Kesani, André Vieira Ribeiro, Raffael Colonnello, Argela Milo, Anastasiya Merkushova, Mikołaj Siemaszkiewicz, Serxhio Dosku, and of course, the Swiss Space Museum. Thank you for your time, expertise, science communication skills, and your creative spirit. You brought our booth to life and made it a place people genuinely wanted to visit. 👏 👏 👏

🎉 We are delighted to announce that our paper on "An Autonomy Loop for Dynamic HPC Job Time Limit Adjustment" was accepted at the 31st International European Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing (Euro-Par) 2025. Our work proposes a novel feedback-driven autonomy loop that dynamically adjusts HPC job time limits based on checkpoint progress reported by applications, achieving a 95% reduction of tail waste (the wasted computations that occur between the last checkpoint and the termination of a job). 📍 Our results will be presented at Euro-Par in Dresden this August. 📄 A preprint is available on arxiv: arxiv.org/abs/2505.05927 Departement Mathematik und Informatik | Universität Basel Florina M.
