Testimony from a Corresponding Member – Loek Vreenegoor from Shell   We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shell’s Loek Vreenegoor for his remarkable contributions to IPLOCA’s Health & Safety community over the past 15 years. His commitment, insight, and leadership have left a lasting and meaningful impact within our Association. We wish him all the very best as he begins this new chapter of his life, retiring from Shell. We are also pleased to share his thoughts on the value and benefits that IPLOCA membership has brought to Shell.    « Shell has been a corresponding member of IPLOCA for over 15 years which has provided us with clear value and benefits:   1. Alignment of our HSE/BMS system with the contracting world we’re critically dependent on focusing on improving our collective safety performance. Examples are the introduction of Goal Zero, Life Saving Rules and Golden Rules which are becoming a norm within our industry now. 2. Collective focus on Mental Health, sharing best practices with members and getting their best practices in return. 3. Connecting with top executives and decision makers of IPLOCA’s member companies enabling strategic alignment discussions all within the boundaries of ABC legislation. Shell teamed up with AllSeas in preparation of the key note presentation by Edward Heerema on the deployment of the Pioneering Spirit on Shell’s Brent platforms. 4. Providing a platform for strategically steering the members to future developments and challenges in the Oil &(O&G) Gas business. Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) is becoming an important theme with specific pipeline challenges when stored in a depleted offshore gas field. Hydrogen pipelines will be needed with some of its own challenges. And Decommissioning & Restoration responsibilities present O&G companies with significant liabilities which can be offset if gas transportation lines can be re-used/re-purposed for CO2 and H2 transportation. All themes where together we can team up to move the goal post.   Shell is committed to continue its corresponding membership with IPLOCA for all the right reasons presented above.   Loek Vreenegoor"
