We are finalizing our WUI Educational Series with an important topic - Human activity and its effect on nature. It’s easy to overlook how vulnerable nature is to our daily actions. Everyone knows that lighting a bonfire in a forest can cause severe damage. But in Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) areas, where nature meets people, the risk zone becomes much larger. Smoking on your own lawn near a forest or throwing a cigarette out of a car window can lead to a major wildfire. It’s been almost 24 hours since the second edition of IoT Sparks ✨ came to an end, and I’m still struggling to collect my thoughts. I’m still feeling overwhelmed by the mix of emotions that this event, after months of hard work to bring it to life, has stirred in me. There will be time to organise all the reflections, ideas, and feedback we’ve received. For now, I just want to pause and feel #grateful. 🙏 Grateful to my incredible team, who showed outstanding resilience under pressure, never losing enthusiasm, initiative, or attention to detail.
