Empowering the next generation through creativity and technology! Together with Schweizer Kinderhilfswerk Kovive, a Swiss NGO supporting disadvantaged children and youth, we spent an inspiring robot week building DanceBots with 10 amazing kids! 🤖💡 During the workshop, the participants soldered electronic components, assembled mechanical parts, and programmed unique dance choreographies using custom software. Each child got to take their DanceBots home to continue experimenting and creating new moves! It was truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork in action — thank you for the wonderful experience! 💫 Fabienne Hartmann, Marisa Vrdoljak Hanna Behles, Tiziana Borghesi, Leonie Beeli, Carolin Fleck, Géraldine Heuer, Yanis Kälin, Janos Kreissl, Armando Wehrli, Wyss Zurich #wysszurich #wysszurichfamily

ETH Science City is always a fantastic opportunity to explore cutting-edge research and discover fascinating scientific phenomena. On October 26th, we’ll be running our Magic Cube workshops! ⚡🧩 This time, the general theme is energy: we’ll travel to the parallel world of the Electron, where a lightning strike has shut down the entire power supply. Electric cars, factories, microscopes, streetlights – everything has stopped. During the workshop, children and teenagers tackle hands-on challenges to get the modules running again, learning what electrical engineering really is and how it shapes our everyday lives. Join us for a journey full of creativity, problem-solving, and fun! Hanna Behles, Leonie Beeli, Tiziana Borghesi, Carolin Fleck, Fabienne Hartmann, Armando Wehrli, Géraldine Heuer, Yanis Kälin, Janos Kreissl, Marisa Vrdoljak #ETHScienceCity #STEMEducation #MagicCubeWorkshop #ElectricalEngineering #FutureEngineers #HandsOnLearning #Innovation #YouthInSTEM
What does it take to make Switzerland’s energy supply secure, affordable, and climate-friendly by 2050? Christian Schaffner, Director of the Energy Science Center, ETH Zurich at ETH Zürich, knows: the future of renewable energy is achievable, but it requires more electrification, more electricity from diverse sources, and greater flexibility in the power grids. Join us on Sunday, October 26, at Hönggerberg at the Treffpunkt Science City event to hear directly from Christian Schaffner. Explore lectures, shows, guided tours, workshops, and our interactive exhibition on the energy transition and blackouts. Last weekend, we celebrated another inspiring Wyss Zurich BioSTARS Community Event, bringing together alumni from the past three cohorts 🎉 We had the opportunity to experience our brand-new 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝟰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 workshop, inspired by the pioneering work of Nanoflex Robotics, a Wyss Zurich startup developing a groundbreaking tele-robotic system for stroke treatment. For our BioSTARS 🌟 – passionate about life sciences, health, and technology – it was the perfect environment to deepen their curiosity, collaborate through group challenges, and gain valuable insights into product development. A truly successful workshop powered by an amazing and engaged community. 🚀 #Innovation #LifeScience #BioSTARS #WyssZurich #Community

🌱 Wyss Zurich BioSTARS is our talent program at mint & pepper. Each year, 20 curious and motivated teenagers (16+) join our summer camp to explore the fascinating world of life sciences and entrepreneurship. 🧪 In the lab, they gain hands-on experience, but they also learn what it takes to bring research from bench to bedside and into real-world applications. And the camp is just the beginning: participants become part of our growing community, with access to events, workshops, and exclusive opportunities. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Tara Sommer, one of our BioSTARS, had the chance to intern at OxyPrem AG, a Wyss Zurich alumni project. A unique and valuable experience for both Tara and the Oxyprem team. Tara is now even part of the regular team as a product designer. ✨ See for yourself! Many thanks to all our partners, without whom such a great program would not be possible: Gebert Rüf Stiftung, ABB, Swisscom, Bärbel & Paul Geissbühler Stiftung, the cogito foundation, accentus, Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich, EPFL, Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI), digitalswitzerland, Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz, Hasler Stiftung, IngCH MINT for our future, Schweizerische Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften SATW, Migros Kulturprozent, Nanoleaf, NCCR Robotics, NCCR Automation, Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich #LifeSciences #Entrepreneurship #STEMEducation #FutureScientists
