Last week, Freddy Koch, Regional Thematic Director Green Cities in Latin America and Juliane Giesen, Key Account Manager Sida at Swisscontact, had the honour of participating in a highly engaging knowledge exchange with the team from the SEI – Stockholm Environment Institute. This meeting was part of a technical visit organised by the Swedish Embassy in Bolivia for the Zero Waste Project, bringing together various public and #PrivateSector actors in Sweden who are contributing to the #WasteManagement, #EnergyTransition and more #Sustainable industrial practices. We are grateful to Sida for the opportunity to be part of this inspiring dialogue. Read more below ⬇️
🌿 A successful green transition needs the right policies grounded in strong research, data and collaboration. As Bolivia takes its first steps toward greener industrial practices, it is seeking trusted partners like SEI to support its ambitions. Earlier this week, Kim Andersson and Tomas Thernström, together with Per Andersson, Eileen Torres-Morales, Arati Davis and Jane Birch from Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), met with a Bolivian delegation visiting Sweden. It was an inspiring afternoon exploring pathways for Bolivia’s green future: ♻️ Advancing waste reduction and circular economy models 🔌 Waste-to-fuel solutions to reduce reliance on natural gas 🔋⚡ Unlocking the potential of Bolivia’s vast lithium resources, critical to the global clean-energy transition 💰 Utilizing Article 6 as a new source of climate finance – included for the first time in Bolivia’s NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions) 🏭 Industry decarbonization, where the cement sector is a priority. LeadIT member SaltX Technology showcased their electrification and carbon-capture innovations that could help shape a low-carbon industrial future. Grateful to Sida for hosting the discussion. We are looking forward to seeing how Bolivia turns its green ambitions into reality. 🌱 cc Freddy Koch, Guido Meruvia, Ludvig Nokleby, Corey Blackman
