Last week, Freddy Koch, Regional Thematic Director Green Cities in Latin America and Juliane Giesen, Key Account Manager Sida at Swisscontact, had the honour of participating in a highly engaging knowledge exchange with the team from the SEI – Stockholm Environment Institute. This meeting was part of a technical visit organised by the Swedish Embassy in Bolivia for the Zero Waste Project, bringing together various public and #PrivateSector actors in Sweden who are contributing to the #WasteManagement, #EnergyTransition and more #Sustainable industrial practices. Bangladesh Engages with the Global Phytosanitary Community 🌍🌱 As part of the 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐁𝐃 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, Swisscontact Bangladesh is collaborating with the APAARI - Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions and the IPPC | International Plant Protection Convention to host a 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 on 20 October 2025. During his visit to Bandung, Mr Parmelin was guest of honour at the signing of a landmark partnership between Swisscontact and POLMAN Badung (Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bandung (PMS-ITB)) - a polytechnic that Swisscontact has supported since the 1970s and helped shape into a national leader in applied engineering. The agreement reaffirms a shared commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s #VocationalEducation and training system. This collaboration continues to empower young Indonesians with future-ready #Skills for a competitive and sustainable economy. In his speech, Mr Parmelin emphasised the central role of the #PrivateSector in Switzerland’s vocational system - a principle deeply embedded in Swisscontact’s work.
