Getting cows to fart a little less is pretty tricky. 🐄💨 But changing what we put on our plates is easy as pie, and could make a big difference to our planet. #WorldFoodDay

Creating a world where people live in harmony with nature. Together, anything is possible.
Info
Nature is our life-support system. That’s why WWF – an independent conservation organization active in nearly 100 countries – is tackling the deepening crisis of nature loss caused by human activities. Our ambition is to set nature on the path to recovery in the coming decade for the benefit of people and wildlife. Working with many others, we must protect and restore natural habitats, stop the mass extinction of wildlife, and make the way we produce and consume sustainable. ============ General information Thank you for joining the WWF LinkedIn community. From the vegetables on our plates to the grains in our bread, healthy soil is the foundation of our food systems. It’s the smallest animals, such as dung beetles, that play a crucial role in maintaining soil health. Without these vital soil engineers, our food systems and ecosystems are at significant risk. Imagine a world where finance rewarded the preservation of forests, rather than their destruction. For more stories on how sustainable finance can drive change for nature, follow WWF Sustainable Finance.
When the balance sheet shows conserving forests is worth more than cutting them down, forests win. So what if finance could be rewired to reward standing forests rather than clearing them? That’s the bold vision behind the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF). And as Kirsten Schuijt argues in Context Newsroom, the time to act is now. Global warming is causing irreversible damage to key habitats like warm-water coral reefs and the Amazon – putting people and planet at risk. But there’s still hope. Around the world, local actions are growing into powerful movements that protect nature and drive real change. Small steps can spark big shifts – social, environmental, and economic. With #COP30 approaching, we need leaders to take bold action.

Global warming is accelerating – we’re on track to surpass 1.5°C. We’re entering a new reality where climate change is pushing people and nature to the brink. The Amazon rainforest, for example, is nearing a tipping point. Forests like the Amazon are among our greatest allies in tackling the climate crisis, storing carbon and stabilising weather systems. With #COP30 approaching, we need bold, urgent action from world leaders to cut emissions, restore nature, and steer us away from irreversible damage.

Conservation, powered by communities. 💚 In southern Tanzania, villages are setting aside tens of thousands of hectares for protection, while also designing their own biodiversity financing models. Women and youth are stepping into leadership roles, proving that inclusive conservation is possible. As one villager put it: “Conservation will only succeed if it is designed by the community, for the community.” And that’s exactly what’s happening. @WWF Tanzania

For years, decisions about nature were made far from the people living closest to it. That’s starting to change in the Central Annamites of Viet Nam. Local leaders like Ms. Pơ Loong Lạc are ensuring community voices are represented in national conservation planning and shape how forests and wildlife are protected. Her story highlights how supporting locally led conservation can make efforts fairer, stronger, and more effective for communities and nature alike. ✨ WWF-Viet Nam

Youth in Pomio, Papua New Guinea, are helping shape the future of conservation. ✊ Long excluded from decision-making, young people are now stepping forward as leaders by creating youth associations, documenting traditional knowledge, and shaping the future of their forests. The next generation is working with their communities to build a future in which youth voices power biodiversity action. WWF-Pacific
