„Hakki Karaman has joined CERN Detector Technology Group and the ATLAS experiment in January 2021 as participant of the Swiss National Qualification Programme BNF under the responsibility of University of Bern. He has been part of ATLAS cooling team under my direct supervision until July 2021. Being talented mechanical engineer, mathematician and open-minded person he pick up a challenge and became R&D mechanical engineer to broaden his knowledge in domain of 2-PACL CO2 detector cooling technologies. Hakki was a part of small international collaboration that focus on physics phenomena’s of the vertical two-phase flows of CO2. After revision of available literature he immediately developed MATLAB based recognition algorithms for automatic flow patterns identification used for high speed camera images taken at the test facility. More recently he focused on Monte Carlo simulation and the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) implementation to reconstruct 3D bubbles statistically and to estimate void fraction ratio from the 2D pattern recognition. I found Hakki to be very competent, talented and well adopting into new environment and team. Always willing to learn and sharing knowledge with younger colleagues. The ATLAS cooling team has benefited from his work and I trust he could be of a value for Your organization.“

A capture device for imaging a person, in particular the face or a part of the face of the person, the capture device comprises at least one camera for capturing an image of the person. The capture device comprises an infinity mirror comprising at least two mirror surfaces arranged oppositely from each other, a light source for emitting light, and a front side to look inside the infinity mirror. The infinity mirror is arranged at the capture device and placed and oriented relative to the capture device so that a capture range with an insight axis and an insight distance for the person is defined and defined capturing of the person by means of the at least one camera is provided when the person is positioned according to the capture range.
