Crypto is at a Turning Point. In a recent interview with Finews AG, our Co-Founder and Group CEO, Andrej Majcen, explained why the traditional four-year Bitcoin cycle may be losing relevance as crypto becomes increasingly integrated into global financial markets. From the approval of ETFs to major banks offering custody solutions, the landscape is shifting rapidly. As Andrej put it: “Fortunately, integration does not necessarily mean correlation. Even though Bitcoin can now be bought and traded more easily than ever before, it still follows its own supply and demand dynamics, which are often only weakly connected to other asset classes.” With its low correlation, Bitcoin stands apart as both a hedge and a growth asset, which makes it a compelling case for its place in wealth management portfolios. ❌ One of the biggest myths about crypto? That it enables anonymous transactions. ✅ Wrong. Blockchain is pseudonymous, not anonymous — every transaction is permanently recorded, transparent, and traceable with the right tools. Yes, illicit finance exists in crypto — just as it does in traditional finance — but the transparency of blockchain often makes uncovering and investigating suspicious activity easier. And let’s look at the facts: 🔹Traditional finance sees $1–2 trillion in illicit flows each year (2–5% of global GDP). 🔹Crypto? $41 billion — about 1% of crypto’s market cap, and only 3% of global illicit finance. The facts speak for themselves: crypto is far less significant for illicit finance than traditional systems. More importantly, advanced analytics tools and AI are making it possible to detect, prevent, and reduce illicit finance even further.
